Enjonine Prompt: Eponine gets Enjolras to do the cinnamon challenge

'No.'

'Please?'

'No.'

'Pleeeeaaaase?'

'No.'

'I'll make you a batch of blueberry muffins and hide them from Grantaire.' There's a long pause.

'Fine.'

'Thank you! I love you so much for doing this! You don't' know how much it'll mean for Gavroche'

The conversation had ended there and Enjolras stuffed his phone back into his pocket. Eponine had asked him to help her out with her stall at Gavroche’s school fundraiser. It’s not that he didn’t want to go (lie: he really didn’t want to go), he was just busy (Game of Thrones Marathon).

Eponine had been planning her stall for weeks and yet she wouldn’t tell anyone what it was. He had a feeling that he might regret it (it’s Eponine) but blueberry muffins were good and Eponine’s Blueberry Muffins were great. And if it was for Gavroche he’d go.

He reasoned that it couldn’t be too bad. Famous last words.

He got a text from Eponine telling him to come from the back entrance of her tent (the green one with white stripes) and help her out a little. Enjolras found the tent easily enough and entered from the back. Eponine was standing behind the counter, for lack of a better word, and a row of kids were standing just outside the stall.

'You're doing the cinnamon challenge?' Enjolras asked incredulously, looking at everything lined up on the counter.

'Nope. You are.' And she stuffed a spoonful of cinnamon into his mouth, laughing as his eyes widened in horror.

In her defense, she didn’t know that he was allergic to cinnamon. Thankfully it wasn’t a severe reaction, but still.

At least the stall had drawn a lot of money from the kids (who apparently enjoyed watching a grown man do the cinnamon challenge and then have an allergic reaction to it), which was good. Gavroche was pleased.

(It drew even more money when he tried to berate her because his tongue had swollen up and he sounded so damn stupid.)

Enjolras was fine now and the stupid lisp was gone so they were sitting in his apartment with blueberry muffins and popcorn as the Game of Thrones Marathon began.

Almost six hours later, the two of them were still sitting on the sofa. Except now Eponine’s head was resting on Enjolras’ shoulder. And Enjolras’ arm was slung around Eponine. And they were asleep.

So perhaps his famous last words weren’t really last words. It wasn’t that bad after all.

(Except for the fact that Eponine had filmed the whole thing and sent it to Courfeyrac who then probably sent it to everyone but Enjolras didn’t know that.)
