DEVELOPER’S NOTE. this is kind of like my first hybrid au miniseries but not at the same time lol, but this time everyone is a hybrid and there’s no humans in this au. also used a prompt from here. also trying out a new header + layout for drabble series! anyways let me know if you want more of this little series!!
“i think the kids are awake,” seonghwa says, voice rough from lack of use as he slowly blinks his eyes to stay awake.
the loud clattering sound from down the hall and presumably the kitchen followed by a few lousy attempts of quiet voices is how seonghwa woke up this morning. the usually grumpy panther could only glare at the ceiling as he heard his mates failing in their attempts to be quiet.
he felt hongjoong turn to his side, the wolf hybrid now looking at him with tired eyes. he must of woke up to the sound as well.
“we don’t have kids, hwa,” hongjoong mumbles back as he cuddles into his lover, nuzzling his face in his neck in order to scent his panther lover. seonghwa couldn’t help but let out a few purrs which slowly began lulling them back to sleep.
“they act like ours kids sometimes,” seonghwa quietly teases back as his arm wraps around hongjoong to hold the male closer to him. each of them sharing their warmth with one another.
and they would have fell back to sleep if it wasn’t for wooyoung’s loud laughing that has seonghwa often wondering if he was supposed to be a hyena hybrid rather than a cheetah.
“so loud,” seonghwa grumbles and hongjoong only hums in reply agreeing with his boyfriend. they both then picked up as some feet softly padding down the hall and towards their room.
“one of them’s coming,” hongjoong says and he assumes it’s either you or yeosang knowing the others have much more heavy footsteps as compared to you two.
the door opens with a soft click and seonghwa watches as a long pair of ears appear from behind the door before your head does as well.
you have a shy smile on your face as you carefully enter the room and make your way over the two oldest members of your small family — or pack as hongjoong likes to call it.
“good morning,” you say softly as you crawl into bed with them on the other side of seonghwa who wraps his other arm around you like he’s doing with hongjoong.
“good morning, love,” seonghwa says as he moves his hands to scratch behind one of your ears which causes you to let out a little purr as well as your teeth chattering together quietly.
“you guys are awfully loud this morning,” hongjoong brings up as he lays his hand on seonghwa’s stomach feeling his abs through his shirt.
“we were making breakfast for you guys,” you explain as you lay a hand on top of hongjoong’s. “it’s almost done by the way, i was sent to wake you guys up.”
“you’re so precious aren’t you, bunny?” hongjoong coos making you smile at him before watching him move out of seonghwa embrace to get out of a bed.
you follow suit with getting out of bed as well with seonghwa following close behind you as you three leave the bedroom with the panther and wolf trailing behind you.
“ta-da!!” both males are greeted with the sight of their mates standing around the dining table which was loaded with nine plates of food.
“good morning, hyungs! we made breakfast!” wooyoung says very proudly as the seven of you look at seonghwa and hongjoong with smiles.
“good job you guys,” seonghwa says walking over as kissing the proud cheetah hybrid before kissing yeosang, jongho, and you as well while hongjoong kissed yunho, san, and mingi.
“let’s eat!” san said with excitement before you all sat down in your usual seats at the table.
after you all ate some of you moved to the living room while some stayed in the kitchen to clean up. you were one of the ones in the living room since you had cleaned up in the kitchen yesterday — and literally all week.
jongho was sitting next to you on the couch, you cuddling the bear hybrid as you all watched a random movie that was playing on tv.
“you’re so warm jjongie,” you say as you press yourself closer to him in order to steal some of his warmth. the bear hybrid could only smile as he held you close to him.
“are you guys cuddling without me?” wooyoung’s voice is filled with disbelief as he comes into the living room and spots you and jongho cuddled together. “you guys know you can’t cuddle without me,” he whines, throwing a small hissy fit before huffing.
“wooyoungie, we were just waiting for you to get done in the kitchen,” jongho says before patting the spot next to him. wooyoung comes over to sit down on the couch before allowing jongho to pull the cheetah into his chest.
you smile as you and wooyoung are face to face and you lean over jongho in order to kiss the feline hybrid. when you pull away you make sure to kiss jongho as well before cuddling back on his side as the others eventually come into the living room and sit down around the room to spend the rest of the morning together.
you woke up this morning with a headache. no, you weren’t even fully awake before felt a pain throbbing through your skull.
you let out a soft groan as you tried to hide under the covers, seeking out one of the two warm bodies that were on either side of you. however, you left side was cold and you opened one eye to see that hongjoong was no longer in bed.
groaning one more, you turned over to see jongho still in bed and you immediately sought out his warmth and comfort. you his your face in the crook of his neck, your limbs entangling themselves with his.
the two of lay like that for a while as you silent hope to sleep the headache away, but an hour passes and you neither go back to sleep or get rid of the headache. with an annoyed huff, you carefully move away from jongho and roll out of bed and make your way down the hall to find your other boyfriend.
you walk into the kitchen to be met with the back of his recently dyed brown hair.
“hongjoooong,” you drag with a pout and said male immediately turns to you at the sound of your distressed tone.
“oh, my baby, what’s wrong?” he asks as he take you into his arms.
“i have a headache and woke up to you not in bed,” you tell him hiding your face in his chest. hongjoong pets the top of the head, making sure to press a quick kiss to it as well before he is moving the both of you over to the cabinet with the medicine.
hongjoong gets an aspirin out handing it to you as he grabs a cold water bottle out of fridge, “hey, y/n, take this,” you thank him before doing as he asked.
“can we go back to bed, it’s too early especially on a saturday,” you say with a slight pout as you take hongjoong’s hand into yours. you can still feel the effects of your headache and you cringe a little at the pain.
hongjoong frowns at the sight of you in pain before quickly agreeing and leading you back to the bedroom where jongho is just now waking up. he watches you and hongjoong crawl back into bed and you let out a soft coo at how cute he is when just waking up.
“morning,” he says as you cuddle up to him while the older male shoots jongho a smile before leaning over to kiss his cheek.
“y/n has a headache so we’re staying in bed for a little while longer,” hongjoong explains quietly noticing how you were quickly drifting off back to sleep. jongho nods as both males get comfortable before the three of you eventually drift off back to sleep.
“sannie!” said male turns to see you running, or more like sliding thanks to your mix-matched socks, towards him. san smiles as he holds his arms out for you for perfectly fit into. you quickly give him a quick peck to his lips shuffling around in his arms making the both of you laugh.
“what are you doing, y/n?” he asks as you move to take his hands into your as you drag him out of the kitchen and into the living room where he finds jongho setting up the living room. the coffee table he’s hit his foot on one too many times on is now moved out of the center of the room where the blowup mattress now takes its place. “uh, what are we doing?”
“movie night!” you cheer with a smile as you move to help jongho spread out the fuzzy black and white blanket over the mattress.
“what movie?” san asks as he walks over and sits down on the mattress next to as you both watch jongho put the movie into the dvd player.
“karate kid!” the younger answers, he seems happy to be watching the classic which makes san happy as well.
“are we watching all of them?” you ask, grabbing a spare blanket and fixing it so that it covers all three of you once jongho comes to lay next to you.
“of course we are,” jongho says with a smile as he playfully boops your nose.
“can we watch kung fu panda after?” san asks and watches as your eyes light up, knowing how much you love the movies.
“we should also watch that netflix series with the karate kid! i heard that was good!” you add and the boys immediately agree to it as jongho starts the first movie.
unfortunately, you and jongho fell asleep third movie in leaving san to watch the karate kid part iii by himself. san didn’t mind however, knowing that his two lovers usually fell asleep before the end of the night. grabbing an extra blanket, san covered you and jongho with it as you both snuggled up with each other.
“good night, my loves,” he whispers, kissing the both of you the forehead before he goes back to watching the movie.

when word spread around the city of some all black motorcycle rider, a lot of people were intrigued and began trying to catch a glimpse of the rider.
wooyoung remembers seeing the rider the same day he moved to seoul. his best friend, san, told him how lucky they were to catch a glimpse of the rider as it’s a rare thing.
“apparently there’s a rumor that the rider is headless,” san said as they walked down the street.
“headless?” wooyoung was skeptical about that. not one to really believe strange rumors like that. it just wasn’t practical.
no, you might not have been headless, but wooyoung was sure that there was something haunting about you. especially with the way he watched you pull a scythe out of thin air as the monster-like man in front of him growled, sharp teeth bearing and ready to attack.
wooyoung’s not even totally sure what happened after that as he was in such a daze. but he was sure that you killed whatever it was that tried to harm him. he remembers someone else entering the alleyway you were in. his build was slightly bigger than yours and wooyoung’s and wooyoung only dazedly watched the guy approach him, lips moving but wooyoung heard nothing but ringing.
and then he passed out.
wooyoung woke up the next morning in his apartment and his first thought was, was that all a dream? did none of it happen? he pushed it to the back of his mind as he stood up, feet making contact with the soft rug––
wait a minute. wooyoung doesn’t have a rug next to his bed. his eyes dart around the room in panic as he realizes this isn’t his bedroom at all.
he debates for a moment if he should leave the room, but that is quickly thrown out the window as he sees the door knob start to turn. wooyoung moves quickly to get back under the covers, eyes squeezed shut as the door opens and he listens to the person walk over to him.
the person’s footsteps are light and wooyoung is struggling to hear their footsteps, but he knows someone is in the room with him.
suddenly, the covers are ripped away from him and wooyoung opens his eyes in shock at the sudden action. turning he sees you standing next to the bed, sheets in hand as you look down at him.
your face is void of emotion and all wooyoung can do is watch you toss the blankets back onto the bed before turning and walking towards the door. he thinks you’re going to leave, but instead you stop, pull out your phone and type something.
“come, breakfast is ready,” the siri-like voice says from your phone, shocking wooyoung even more.
“o-okay,” wooyoung is a little embarrassed by the voice crack, but you say nothing as you walk out of the room.
it takes wooyoung a few moments before he gets out of bed once more and carefully leaves the room. he follows the hallway which leads into the main area of the apartment and he’s quite shocked to see how nice the apartment is compared to his one room apartment. the living room alone is probably the size of his apartment and he’s a little jealous if he’s being honest.
entering the kitchen, wooyoung is met with you sitting at the table, slowly eating while someone else is cooking. you and wooyoung make eye contact and he once again watches you type something on your phone.
“sit down and eat,” the robotic voice says once more and this catches the attention of the male cooking.
“hm, oh, good morning. how are you feeling?” he asks and wooyoung is honestly caught off guard by how cute this guy is compared to the large build he has.
“i’m fine... um, what happened last night? why am i here?” wooyoung is quick to ask as he wants answers.
“oh, well you see, y/n found in an alleyway and before we could figure out anything from you, you passed out, so we just brought you here,” the male explained as he set food down onto the table. “i’m jongho by the way,” he introduces himself with a smile.
“wooyoung,” he says before sitting down across from you and jongho.
after sitting in silence for most of the meal, wooyoung finally breaks his silence and asks one more question.
“what was that thing that attacked me last night?” jongho pauses mid-bite to look up at the older male while you completely ignore him in favor of your rice.
“well, that’s a little hard to explain without sounding crazy,” jongho admitted but wooyoung urged him to speak. “well it’s a ghoul, or at least that’s what y/n has called it. she’s been hunting for those things for years. and that ghoul was looking to eat you.”
“eat me? what is this tokyo ghoul?” wooyoung asked, a little surprised. he’s even more surprised when he sees you crack a smile.
“that’s actually where y/n got the name for those things. because those ghouls act similar to the ones like you encountered last night.”
“oh,” wooyoung says, still shocked at what jongho told him before he goes back to eating. still trying to wrap his head around the whole thing.
after breakfast, jongho told wooyoung that you would take him back home. wooyoung thanked jongho for the food and everything else before leaving the apartment and heading down the parking garage where you waited for him.
upon seeing you dressed in a familiar all black outfit sitting on an all black motorcycle, it seemed like everything in wooyoung’s mind clicked.
you were the haunting motorcycle rider that everyone in the city was obsessed with. how did he not figure this out earlier?
“whoa...” he says as he approaches you with wide eyes. you say nothing expect handing him a helmet before you put yours on. he then sits behind you on the motorcycle while you start it up while also having wooyoung put in his address into your gps.
he hesitates for a moment before wrapping his arms around your waist. wooyoung feels his heart speed up when the bike first moves as you pull out of the parking garage and onto the street.
you feel wooyoung’s grip tighten every time you make a turn or speed up a little, so you make a note to go a little slower.
it takes wooyoung a moment to carefully get off the bike before he takes his helmet off and hands it back to you as he fixes his backpack.
“thank you... for...” wooyoung trails as he watches the helmet he was just wearing disappear into a black fog before quickly moving to the ground and to your shadow. he looks at you with wide eyes, his reflection in your own helmet clearly showing his shock as he internally tries to search for your own eyes.
wooyoung clears his throat before trying to speak again, “thank you for saving him last night and also for bringing me home.” you simply nod your head at him causing the male to nod his head back as he steps away from you. you situate yourself onto your motorcycle before you speed off down the road and wooyoung stays glued to his stop until he can no longer see you.

anonymous requested.
to him, red was an all too familiar color. it was the color that his enemies bleed after he killed them.
to him, red was a symbol of death.
it was a color he never really wanted to associate with you, but in this moment he couldn’t help but love the color red on you.
the nightclub you were in was dim and the only real source of lights were the flashing blue, green, yellow, and red ones that filled the dance floor.
jongho watched from his seat in the v.i.p section as you danced with other people on the dance floor. you eventually made eye contact and smiled at him before beckoning him over with a curl of your finger.
florescent red lights moved over your bodies as jongho held your body close to his. the both of you moving in sync and grinding against one another in time to the song that was currently blastly loudly across the nightclub.
his hands roamed over your body as you pressed your back against his board chest. he kissed your bare neck as you reached up to rake your fingers through his hair.
“jongho, they’re here,” mingi’s voice snapped him back to reality. pulling you with him, the three of you made it back to the v.i.p section were some new faces were mixed with familiar ones of the gang jongho was in.
jongho sat down before immediately pulling you onto his lap as the meeting with the other gang’s leader and hongjoong began. everything was going smoothly and the deal was wrapping up nicely until one of the other gang’s men spoke up.
“hey choi, that’s a nice bitch you got there. how much do you want for me to take her off your hands?”
you couldn’t even process the words before jongho pushed you off his lap to stand up and pull his gun out.
“what you fucking say about my girl? she’s not for sale and besides she wouldn’t want you anyway,” jongho hissed.
“jongho, don’t cause any trouble for hongjoongie,” you pouted tugging on his shirt to distract him from the man across from you both. jongho ‘tsk’ed before putting his gun away and sitting back down and pulling you flush against his body.
he admired how the lights from the dance floor gently reflected onto you. he started to admire the red lights the most and he was glad he could admire this color red compared the red of blood that would have come from the man across from you both.
once the other gang was gone, jongho leaned into you pressing his lips against your ear before speaking, “i didn’t think red could be such a beautiful color and then i saw it on you, babe.”
you let a grunt as you fall to the ground, your practice sword once in your hand now laying next you. you look up at jongho who stands above you with his own practice sword resting on his shoulder as he looks at you with a done look.
“come on, y/n, you call yourself a knight and yet you still can’t last one round with me,” he tsk at you as you stand up, dusting the dirt off your clothes as you grab your sword off the ground as well. “why are even still here, y/n? you’ll never be ready to protect anyone if you can’t even protect yourself.”
you watch as jongho turns and curtly walks away from you, leaving you by yourself in the training grounds. you look down at the sword in your hands before gripping it harshly as you turn and throw it. an angry yell rips through your throat before you feel tears stream down your face.
he was right, though. how could you protect anyone if you weren’t even strong even to protect yourself. you walk over to your wooden sword and crouch down only to hid your face in your knees as you began to silently cry.
you should have never followed after jongho and told your parents and everyone else that you were also going to become a knight. you were tired of having always been compared to jongho and him always putting you down for never being as good as him.
everyone usually saw your relationship as a friendly rivalry between two people who grew up together, but you’ve always liked jongho and wanted to more than rivals. that’s why you always challenged the things he did to get him to notice you more. maybe you should finally just give up and go home.
"hey did you hear about the group of bandits on the outskirts of the city?” you overhear a knight say. you turn your head slight to watch the two knights walk past you as they talk.
“yeah, captain said he was going to put a small team together to go handle them,” the other one says.
“geez, hope i’m not on that team,” the first one speaks.
“what side of the city are those bandits on?” you ask standing quickly and surprising the two knights.
“the north. geez, y/n the hell you doing hiding like that?”
“don’t ask question you don’t want to know the answer to,” you say before dashing off away from the two, who only watch you confused before looking at each other and then shrugging their shoulders.
a few hours had passed after the knights had seen you run off after asking about the bandits. jongho by this time was practice when they came and asked him about you.
“hey, jongho, y/n wasn’t at dinner. do you know where they are?”
“no, why would i?”
“aren’t you guys friends?”
“not really. our moms were friends so we only grew up with each other.”
“wait, you don’t think y/n went after those bandits by themselves do you?” jongho froze when he heard that and turned to look at the two males before him.
“what bandits?” one of the knights then explained the situation and how you had asked about where they were located.
jongho felt something in his stomach drop before he rushed out of the practice room to gather his gear before you went to go find you.
“y/n, you dumbass. you better be okay,” he says to himself as he runs quickly down the street to the outskirts of the city.
it was nightfall by the time you reached the bandit camp. dressed in all black and sword attached to your hip. you hid in a bush watching and counting how many bandits there were. ten. you could handle it, you felt confident enough.
a hand suddenly placed itself around your mouth and you let out a muffled scream as you were dragged away from the camp.
“shut up!” you immediately recognized that voice and you felt yourself slightly relax and jongho held you close to him. “what the hell do you think you’re doing? are you crazy?!” he asked in a hushed yell.
“i can could have handled them, jongho. i don’t need your help!” you say back in an equally hushed tone.
“handle them? handle them?! y/n, you can barely handle me in a fight let alone ten of those guys! come one let’s go back before they notice us.” he says and you can tell he doesn’t want to talk about this anymore.
so you willingly follow him back to the palace grounds. not a word spoken between the two of you, until you return and then you finally decided to speak.
“why?”
“why what?”
“why did you come find me and stop me?”
he hesitates for a few seconds, “because someone has to stop you from doing stupid stuff all the time.”
“jongho...” you say and he finally turns to look at you, “i think... i think i’m going to quit and return home. it’s obvious that i’m not suited to be knight... not like you,” you say. jongho’s surprised by your words, never once since he’s known you have you just quit.
“why so suddenly?”
“because you’re right. earlier you told me how could i become knight and protect others when i can’t even protect myself,” you answer.
“you can’t just quit and leave me here by myself!” he says suddenly and you look at him shocked by his outburst. “quitting isn’t like you, y/n. even if you’re not strong like me, i know you have good intentions like a true knight. i’m sorry i’ve been so tough on you. you just... can’t quit, not when we’re both so close.”
“so... you think i can still become a knight even if i’m not strong like you?” he nods giving you a reassuring soft smile.
“let’s finish together, okay?” you nod with a smile this time.
