Chaerin was anxiously looking at all the luggage passing in front of her eyes, all the luggage, and for now, none of hers or her team's. She really couldn't understand the anxiety around it everytime she had to take the plane, and it had been a lot the last couple of years. Was she expecting a hole in the time-space continuum to swallow what belonged to her and only to her ? Yes, it was silly and yet, there she was, hating each and everyone of the other travelers getting their own burden.
Finally a peak of a deep green guitar case made her heart deflate in relief. Then her red luggage. And everyone else's. She took possession of her guitar, stopping herself from hugging it tightly and then grabbed and pulled onto the other luggage, which heavily fell right onto her toes. She huffed in pain but didn't complain more. It was the last step, the last step before reuniting with the one her heart was reaching for, she could feel it, pulling itself out of her thorax. It was painful and beautiful at the same time and of course she broke the wheel of her luggage a couple of days ago, so it was rolling a bit crookedly and it kept getting mixed up in her legs but it didn't matter, it didn't matter because the sun was waiting for her.
That was what Myungsoo was. Her sun. Everyday he was here, expected, a surprise to no one, and yet a wonder all the same. He made every morning of her life a sunrise and every evening, a sunset. He brought life to the used to be dead land of her being and she was now growing and growing, fruits of a love that couldn't go dry or sterile. She was a piece of eternity now because their love would never falter.
She could hear behind her the laughter of her crew, knowing perfectly why all politeness was forgotten. It was a well-known choreography, not quite understood by anyone, but lived and lived again.
She passed the gate and her heart was making so much noise in her ears, she couldn't hear anyone anymore. She felt like she could already explode of impatience, because she knew he was there, she could feel him like she was feeling her earring brushing her neck, like she could feel her hair being pulled by the awkward placement of her scarf. She could feel his presence.
And suddenly she could see his presence. Two deep browned eyes who never seem to have left her since the very first time she saw them. Her heart was pouring all over her and it got stuck in her throat a bit because it was pushed away by a light gleeful scream 'Myungsoo !' and of course, his face had been enlightened seconds ago already, the nano-moment he caught a glimpse of her.
Everytime he was getting her at the airport and everytime it felt like she has never been luckier in her life. Her luggage was suddenly so heavy, so cumbersome, it felt like it took hours to drag them towards him and suddenly here he was, just in front of her, finally able to touch him, to smell him, to feel him.
Videochatting had nothing on reality, that was for sure, he was so beautiful and so hers and no amount of pixels could give it justice.
She put her luggage on the ground.
She looked at him some more.
She couldn't remember who embraced the other first.
She was in his arms, her head firmly tucked in his neck, soaking in his existence. The pressing feeling of earlier forgotten, all of her muscles melting, this was home and he was hers and the world was revolving around the sun as she was around him. And the night had fallen on Seoul hours ago, but it has gone for her right at this moment. It was a bright day, a summer day, full sunlight, the kind of weather to sunbathe and end up with sunkissed skin. Her plane for the rest of the night.
« I'm back. » She whispered, her lips brushing against his skin. It was delightful and she never wanted it to end, but it was also so long because now it gave her a taste of him and she wanted to kiss him until she couldn't remember quite well which limb belonged to whom.
« I'm home. »
