During class, Wylan B’s mother died. A nurse, Clair, who had been helping his mom told him to step outside so that they could talk. She broke the news to him, and he looked away so she couldn’t see him cry.

She turned him around and hugged him tightly, trying her best to comfort him. She told him that he was going home early and got his stuff for him. When she came back with his stuff, he was just crying in the hallway. Clair helped him up and walked him to the office to see his dad.

The classroom walls were thin, so everyone heard the news about what happened. When Wylan came back, no one said anything about what they heard. Well, except Connor since he’s his best friend. Connor left school early to check on him and his family everyday since that happened, he even skipped school just to keep Wylan company. They are now closer than before.
