“ Just because my path is different, doesn’t mean that I am lost. “
“You aren’t lost,” Zed agrees. “You choose to go completely off the road. If an ocean stood between you and your destination, you would try to run across the water before going around it.”
It looks like Zed’s scowl is just as impassable as the obstacles he speaks of, but after a few moments he lets out a breath and his face softens. He looks upon the scythe in his hands, and the animated weapon that had inexplicably bound itself to him. It chose you for a reason. But to bring out your own potential? Or its own?
He had almost let loose an entire squadron of mages from the Placidium onto his trail during a mission in the capital. Zed had to mobilize an auxiliary force to ensure things didn’t escalate overnight. If that happened, and the Captain got wind of it... Zed raises a hand to his temple. It would make for an excruciating headache.
“You did well to escape from that situation, Kayn.” He admits that. One must give credit where credit is due. “But your error was placing yourself in such a position in the first place.”
