We had a pet spotlight at work to show off the pets that might appear in our conference calls, and you know spark joy twice a week. Creativity was encouraged for this of us socially isolating without pets.

This is my pothos Archie. He’s pretty great.

Likes: Sun bathing, hanging out with his plant friends, drinking water, and going for walks on the nature trail

Dislikes: Having his vines stepped on, when the sun goes above the roof line, and bubble baths

One of my coworkers suggested I post it on Reddit, which I’ve been trying to get into. And the first comment on it was “Not funny”, which like whatever. But also clearly not “whatever” because I’m now posting it on tumblr as well because I like to think I understand tumblr a little more. Take that mean commenter!

I feel under stress and there are mulitiple factors at play:

• I’m starting the process to buy a house - there’s paperwork, there’s this crazy market (both my stocks going down and the fact the starter house market is NUTS). So I’m just feeling many feelings

• COVID-19 - I had to cancel a business trip and my office closed our gym. I’m more annoyed about the gyn because that was good stress relief, but also I don’t know how much food I should horde or not so I’m just washing my hands diligently and hoping things cool off

• my ski test - taking my certification this weekend for the next level and I’m nervous and in a fuck it kind of mood. There’s only three people taking the two day test so I’m hoping it all goes smoothly and we all pass. I did A LOT of studying but have taken a break the last week to get out of my head and now here we are

So I ate a little too much red lentil pasta for dinner and I now register it was due to stress and not due to a lack of self control that will undo the progress I’ve made on my new healthy lifestyle. But come on universe, give a girl a break!
