One of my major inspiration growing up would be Clamp Studio from Japan. They are the studio that brought us titles like Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura, X, Xxx-holic and many more. I can still remember watching Magic Knight Rayearth on ABS CBN, singing the Filipino theme song. Back then the only reference that a regular kid like me would have would be those small cards that comes with candies, or you can buy the original merchandise from Comic Alley in SM North. There was this special connection that you get from hand drawn characters, and watercolor backgrounds that made me feel that I would pursue a degree in the arts. I enjoy doing characters with complicated clothing designs, twisting long hairstyles, and exaggerated accessories. Let me share this journal spread using Sharpies this Inktober season.
