Some late night thinking about that “What if Morgan fell out of his universe” (into the Ezrel or another story, I don’t friggin know)
He returns to consciousness in a place that is not the bare room he’s lived in for so many years, and as his senses slowly come back to him he only feels a peacefulness that he doesn’t even notice at first
Then it hits him like an electroshock, that his mind is quiet, that he sees only black under his closed eyes. That the constant visions disappeared. His hands fumble on an unfamiliar surface as he pushes on his arms to raise himself and sit, and he almost scratches the skin of his forehead as he hurriedly tears off his useless blindfold.
The light hits so hard that he has to shield his eyes from it, but after a few minutes of blinking he opens them to a foreign landscape. And for the first time since as far he can remember, he can really, /truly/ see his surroundings, and only them - so much less than the omniscience that had been his for his whole life, and yet it feels like until then, he’s never truly seen anything.
