Don’t know why I was so determined to see these #ClapperRails. Possibly squinting a lot into the marsh this summer while I hear them but can’t see them! For something supposedly so shy into the reeds they were pretty friendly! If anything has ever reminded me of Jurassic Park it’s these birds running through the shallow water and parting grasses calling and looking for each other! These are the raptors in the grass! The clever girls! Too funny watching them from up high making paths.
