Obviously my drawing of Clara is much older than my drawing of Elizabeth, but Clara’s design is relatively the same as it was a year or two ago (when I made the character sheet.)
Elizabeth Ludenwitz III was born into the wealthy monarchy of the country of Ludenwit. From a very, very early age, she was taught by her conservative parents about the importance of social status, class, and presentation. She was educated by the very best teachers butof the country appointed by her mother and father. In the public eye, Elizabeth is seen as a quiet, submissive, passive princess, who has a big heart, but, in private, only the last description is true. However, one faithful day, her father carrying out routine executions for “enemies of the state“ she sees a peasant girl, about the same age as her being brought up to the guillotine. Yes, Elizabeth knew this girl was being executed for her crimes, yet she couldn’t shake the feeling of curiosity for, as she would come to find out, Clara’s story. Pleading with the king, her father, to let this poor woman at least have a chance at redemption, he let Clara live under one circumstance. (Now, from what little was known about Clara, they knew she is at least a novice, swords woman, having defended herself from the soldiers when they initially came to arrest her.) the king decided, she would serve as Elizabeth’s knight and bodyguard through the growing political tension. (With Clara in Elizabeth’s life now, political won’t be the only tension rising)
Clara Asher was born into a poor farm family in the outskirts of the capital of Ludenwit, having to slaughter the farm animals with a sword as her father taught her how to be a butcher in order to provide for the family. This partially traumatized Clara because she has so much love for each animal, but she knew that just had to be done in order for her and her family to survive. It was on this farm where she met her first girlfriend, a girl coming to buy bread for her family caught her eye. She immediately took a liking to her despite her family and her government’s beliefs on how it was acceptable to love. Eventually, Clara’s parents found out about this love affair, and instead of reporting her to the government, as was encouraged, they disowned her and told her to never come back. With no money to her name, Clara and her lover found a rundown cottage to live in. However, as political tensions began to grow, the king started to crack down on “political enemies.” This was just anyone who broke the laws and the “image” of what the kingdom was supposed to look like. The bounty for “political enemies” began to raise higher and higher, and Clara’s girlfriend saw the chance and took it. Clara’s girlfriend was already planning on breaking up with her because they’re living conditions were too bad and she didn’t like being poor or an outcast, and just because she was getting bored of her, so this seemed like a perfect opportunity. She reported clear to the authorities, leading to Clara‘s now X a fortune, and Clara being set up for her execution date. But as she was walking up to the guillotine, closing her eyes and praying that what they said about what happened to the people who loved like she loved wasn’t true she saw Princess Elizabeth running towards her.
I have the entire lore mapped out but I’m gonna sprinkle the story throughout my posts, so you better follow along
