Okay, so claraozzy sent me an ask earlier, but I accidentally deleted it because I'm terrible with technology so... This is my response: My teacher not only spent forever giving speeches about wasting time, wasted time in a bunch of other ways, too. He once spent five minutes preparing us not to laugh about the name of the country we were about to discuss- Djbouti- and then started laughing once he told us the name. There's plenty else, but then I'd start ranting about a bunch of other teachers, including ones that aren't/weren't mine, so I'll stop there.
would you say that Dutch is a hard language to learn if you don't grow up learning it?
Umm.. I think it depends on where you’re from. I’ve heard it’s a quite easy language to learn for English people. German is far more difficult to learn, because they have more articles.
I think the most difficult part is our articles (’de’ and ‘het’).. I don’t think there is a rule when to use which. So, you basically just need to remember when to use which.. Also, we often place the verb at the end of a sentence, which might take some time getting used to. The difficulty of the pronunciation depends on your own language. Most people learning Dutch find our ‘sch’, ‘ch’ and ‘g’-sounds hard to reproduce, but I know, for example, arabic people don’t really have problems with this sound.
So, I think it’s an average language to learn. :)

DYSLEXIC BRUCE BANNER IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME
mostly because we need to debunk the idea that dyslexic = stupid
but also i have never quite got brian banner’s ideology of “although for all intents and purposes my son appears like a perfectly normal child, i work with radiation AND THEREFORE HE MIGHT BE A MUTANT AND I MUST STOP HIM/EXPERIMENT ON HIM” i mean??? it’s kind of. vague. but dyslexic bruce banner- whole different story, with a brian banner who believes that being smart is everything because that’s how he got to where he is and he cannot believe how his son ended up so broken (and a rebecca banner who would fight to the ends of the earth to make sure that bruce never believes that he is)
i mean, think about it- he was kicked out of formal education aged 11, and had to self-teach and get by on various tutors until he was offered a military scholarship because of his knowledge of science/maths/bombs (i know there are various different versions of his backstory, but roll with me here,) so wouldn’t have had proper help with his dyslexia or literacy in general in those formative years
imagine adult bruce banner being self-conscious about his spelling and handwriting because it’s so important for him to be smart, smart is all he’s got, and all his life people have looked at his writing and called him stupid (imagine how relieved he must be to get to college and use computers for everything, imagine his joy at texting and autocorrect and spellcheck)
imagine those desperate times where he just has to write a message for someone to find and people like tony and clint etc are so wildly protective of bruce whenever people act surprised at the way he writes
imgine tony switching stark industries’ official font to something weighted so it’s easier for people with dyslexia and sight issues to read because of this
imagine bruce being a role model for dyslexic kids everywhere because he is literally one of the smartest people in america if not the world
