UNIFORM (adjective): The act of looking the same and not standing out; In marching band or even concert band all musicians are expected to have the same put together look as one another. Everyone wears the same uniform, same black band shoes, long black socks, and nothing distracting such as dramatic jewelry, colorful hair accessories, etc. The purpose is to look as professional as you can within the group. Example sentence: For the big competition we all need to look uniform!
