ABOUT HUNTER:
Hunter grew up in a family that was strict, but loving. Both of his parents worked high-powered jobs that kept them away from the house – his father was CEO of his own company, and his mother was Mr. Clarington’s chief financial officer. The company Mr. and Mrs. Clarington worked for sometimes struck Hunter as more important to them than he was himself. He would find himself resenting them whenever they were absent, but on the occasions one or both of his parents were actually home, they doted on Hunter. It was a disjointing, puzzling childhood.
Hunter attended a military academy, not because he was a troubled child or a rebellious one, as is the cliche. But Mr. Clarington, Hunter’s grandfather, and his great-grandfather had been in the military in some form of another, before starting successful careers in either law or business. It was understood that Hunter would do the same. Whether he wanted to or not.
They moved to Ohio because his father decided to start a new branch of his company there, and leave Mrs. Clarington as CEO of his original office. The family was well-off enough for Mrs. Clarington to afford the brief flight from Colorado to Ohio, or vice versa. Hunter was taken out of his military school with the understanding that he would get top grades so he could get into West Point. It was the type of pressure that had always been exerted on him.
Hunter fully believes that he fell in love with Sebastian first. It wasn’t love at first sight, exactly, but Hunter was definitely attracted to him from day one, even if it took him a while to admit it to himself. Sebastian was gorgeous, cocky, smart – he was completely intoxicating to Hunter. And he still is, all this time later.
HUNTER’S DIRTY LITTLE SECRET:
One of his students has made it clear that she is in love with him, and she has begun to stalk him – leaving notes under his windshield wiper when his car is parked in the gym parking lot, sending letters and packages to his house, telling him how much she loves him.
