Finding My Next Adventure in Waterton Lakes National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at a roadside pullout along the Red Rock Parkway in Waterton Lakes National Park. The view is looking to the west and across the prairies to my front with ridges and peaks of Mount Blakiston as a distant backdrop.

Forest and Mountains Along the Akamina Parkway (Waterton Lakes National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at a roadside pullout along the Akamina Parkway with a view looking to the east across a nearby meadow and forest to more distant ridges and peaks coming off Mount Crandell. This is in Waterton Lakes National Park. My thought on composing this image was to pull back on the focal length and capture a wide angle view, allowing me to have most of the full heights of the nearby trees as well as the mountain peaks off in the distance. The other thing I felt important to include was the partly cloudy skies above and metering the exposure properly to include the details present in the skies above. I was later, able to pull out the more shadowed areas in post-production and bring out the colors I wanted for this setting.

Wilson Range, Miche Wabun Peak, and Other Peaks and Ridges of the Northern Lewis Range (Waterton Lakes National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A view looking to the southeast from a roadside pullout along the Akamina Parkway. This is in Waterton Lakes National Park but the distant peaks are in the US in Glacier National Park. In composing this image, I liked how the two nearby mountainsides formed a V and helped to frame a look beyond to the more distant peaks.

Engulfed in Memories to Share with Waterton Lakes National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the west while taking in views at a roadside pullout and exhibit along the Red Rock Parkway in Waterton Lakes National Park. My thought on composing this image was to zoom a little in with the focal length, centering Mount Blakiston off in the distance, while also having a sweeping view across the grassy meadows leading up to that. Helping to frame the mountain, I used the v shaped created between the two ridges that were coming off nearby mountainsides in the Clark Range.

My thought on composing this image was to zoom a little in with the focal length, centering Wilson Range and Miche Wabun Peak (Glacier National Park) off in the distance, while also having a sweeping view across the canyon leading up to that. Helping to frame the mountain, I used the v shaped created between the two ridges that were coming off nearby mountainsides in the Clark Range.

My thought on composing this image was to angle my Nikon SLR camera so that I would capture a look across this nearby gassy meadow leading to more distant mountains. According to the PeakVisor app on my iPhone, those are of Mount Richards and Bertha Peak.
