they didn’t get many visitors and quite frankly, it wasn’t surprising. megaton wasn’t exactly a utopia       in fact, it was anything but. they were living with a literal ticking atomic bomb ( not to mention people actually worshiping said atomic bomb. if he heard one more fucking children of atom speech, he was going to go crazy. ) it wasn’t the adults he was worried about, though -- those people were as bad as the town itself. well, everyone except for gob. he wasn’t even worried about himself. no, he worried for his sister who deserved to live somewhere that didn’t have a literal ticking bomb. as soon as she was older and as soon as he found somewhere better, he was going to get them both out of that dump. 

so it’s safe to say that he was a little more than surprised when he heard of another vault 101 escapee, one he almost felt sorry for. ( cromwell and his fucking ‘let me bombard every visitor with the knowledge that yes, there is a bomb, but yes, we actually worship it here’ antics. )
