when people tag posts "unreality" it's a signal to people who struggle with discerning reality that a (likely scary if believed to be true) post is not real even though it's written as if it was. it's also a filter tag so those people can opt out of seeing posts like that entirely. many people who rely on the unreality tag are psychotic and struggle with paranoia alongside (or because of) the struggles discerning what's real. posts that these people interpret to be real can lead to incredible distress and compulsions.

when someone tags your post "#unreality" and you screenshot the tags and say "what are you talking about? this is real" because you consider the post easy to discern as not real and find this joke funny you're actually just causing paranoia for people who now feel like they can't trust the unreality tag. not everyone has the same reality discernment skills as you. what's "obviously" a fictional story to you may not be obvious to other people.

I don't think most people make this joke maliciously. I think most people making this joke don't even realize why the unreality tag exists. anyways, if you've made this joke or have the urge to make this joke then consider not doing that.

I should talk about the time I was forcibly injected with an antipsychotic that caused me to have a seizure and then made me stay awake for a full 48 hours straight just rocking back and forth in pain unable to open any of my curtains or turn on any lights. They gave me this without my consent. Told me it was for nausea. I said I wanted zofran. Ive never reacted badly to zofran. Zofran works for me. I was in the ER because I contracted Parvo and my immunocompromised body decided to amplify the pain from that to its absolute fullest extreme (of course i didnt find out it was parvo until several months later). I was in so much pain I was sobbing at the clothes on my body touching my skin. They saw bipolar and psychosis in my chart and decided I couldnt possibly be physically ill. They did nothing to rule it out. They ignored my seizure history in my chart and intentionally gave me a med that causes seizures in thoze with seizures. I was sent home still in pain and even worse than when I went to get help. Crazy people cant even have medical emergencies. We cant even ask for help. We will get "help" thats really just violence in disguise because everyone wants to fix our brains and not our discomfort. And they'll put us through hell to try and mold us into something "normal."

this is not even the half of it. somehow every single sentence has what i can only describe as pure unadulterated hate for an incredibly vulnerable group of people. i dont think i could even cover how all of this is terrible. comparing a trans woman to that of a masculine opppressor. framing her as a parody of a woman that exploits the feminized labor of others like a goddamn businessman. very clearly stating that receiving labor you can't reciprocate is a bad thing. very clearly stating that being supported financially is a moral failing. very clearly stating that having emotional breakdowns is manipulative.

this article was written about the worst caricature of a "crippled leech on society", and rather than address the obvious communication issues displayed in the dynamics present the proposed solution is to oust (kill) the most vulnerable, marginalized party.

as a woman who relies on a caregiver to survive, who identifies with being a puppygirl and functionally inhabits the social position of a child, upset is an understatement with regards to how i feel. if my caregiver took this advice for either me or our mutual girlfriend we would both die. if the people in this hypothetical scenario took this advice the puppygirl would die. systemically if people absorb this information and act according to what it says those who rely on them will die. this is not just a shitty mistake. it's not an understatement to say this is violent and could have terrible consequences.

just because some people have dysregulated emotional responses, baggage, disability or otherwise a position of extreme vulnerability does not mean you can or should just dump us. it is on both of you to communicate and work through issues. do not kill your puppygirl

we should never let sanism slide, no matter how common it is or how it's integrated into so much modern vocabulary. if someone uses mental illness as an insult, let it irritate you. don't get used to it, don't let it be normal. be so annoying about it. be the one friend who is too woke because otherwise it can never end.

be annoyed when "delusional" is said as an insult. be annoyed when the words "narcissist" & "abuser" are used interchangeably. be annoyed when "psychotic" is used to mean "dangerous."

I fucking hate how popular it's become to blame and complain about "narcissists." The ableism is disgusting. Your parent, boss, whatever the fuck doesn't have a personality disorder. They're just selfish. Stop pretending every horrible, abusive person in the world must be mentally disabled.

that post that said something like people surviving horrible things aren't probably aren't going to have ways of coping that look "good" to others straight up changed my life.

like if someone's lost in the woods, you don't really expect them to cook a meal that's good & healthy for them, let alone something gourmet. you wouldn't chastise them for scavenging for berries or eating raw meat in the absence of other food sources.

it's less about the behaviors being risky/unhealthy, and more about the situation or environment being unhealthy for the person. simply removing the behaviors doesn't actually change the core issue, and it can even put that person at greater risk of harm to do so.

humans' psychological and social needs are just as important as their physical ones... and blaming people for those needs not being fulfilled is cruel.

In case people weren't thinking about it, doctors who tell schizophrenic people and people with personality disorders, things like that, that they "shouldn't have sex" because it might "worsen their condition" are practicing eugenics.

It's not about some sort of genuine medical study showing "oh x people feel worse whenever they have sex", it's about keeping "Mad" people from having sex and possibly having children.

To be fair, it is also part of the common, ableist practice of removing joy from disabled people's lives, specifically people with mental disorders, in order to control them [for example, trans schizophrenic people being denied the right to HRT "because" of their schizophrenia] but a lot of it comes from eugenics and the idea disabled people should not "create more" of themselves.

Like, it doesn't come from nowhere anymore than claims that no schizophrenic people should be allowed alcohol or recreational drugs. It's an alarmingly common practice.
