Bruno had finally left his room for the first time in well over a week, looking more exhausted than maybe he ever had. The first few days he had made up excuses for why he couldn't come out and nobody could come in. He couldn't just tell his family that he had tried to learn magic outside of his gift and his attempt to turn himself into a rat had backfired horrifically. So he told them he was too sad and fatigued to come out and too overwhelmed by their large and loud family to have anyone come in. After 6 days he stopped responding all together. Luckily Casita still hadn't let anyone in. He couldn't remember what had happened, but given the state of his room when he woke up, it couldn't have been anything good.
But he had eventually woken up and to his shock and amazement he was even almost completely back to normal. He was incredibly tired, incredibly sore, and incredibly hungry, though. So now he was in the kitchen, eating whatever he could find.

❝Tía Pepa, hey!❞ Mirabel called, running up to her aunt. She was a little out of breath, having run around looking for her as soon as she finished her special project. ❝This is for you!❞
She held up a yellow rain jacket, covered in embroidery. There were suns and rainbows all over- the usual thing she’d have thought to put on something for Pepa. But there were also rainclouds, with rain falling along the length of the jacket and landing on a beautiful bunch of flowers at the hem. It was her little way of telling her aunt that rain wasn’t always bad. She had realized about halfway through the project that embroidery might compromise the point of a rain jacket, so she had reinforced the interior with another layer of waterproof fabric.
❝It should be waterproof.❞

Somewhere between exploring space and traveling through the multitude of dimensions, Rick found himself entering through a portal. Perhaps the third one that day. He hadn't entered this code into his portal gun before. Some place new, but he felt slightly desperate.
As he watched the fuel gauge on the dashboard went from slightly empty to fully on 'E', he leaned back into the driver's seat. "Well, shit," He mumbled, taking out a flask as he prepared for his ship to crash.
The ship dove straight into the ground, skidding a few feet before hitting against a palm tree. His body flung around inside, jolting forward onto the steering wheel.
Slowly, and sore, he pulled himself away from the dashboard. Smoke filled the air around his ship and he groaned from the bouts of pain that rippled through his body. "Ugh, god damnit..."
