Adulting is realizing it’s never just about one airline.
Yeah, companies fail, money gets tight, deals fall through… all of that is real. But pay attention to what happens every time affordable ways to travel start disappearing or getting cut back.
Suddenly it’s all about cost. Safety. “Concerns.” Same script, every time. Meanwhile, the people who actually need those cheaper options—flights, buses, public transit—are the ones who get hit the hardest. Not the folks with money. Not the folks with options.
And we’ve seen this before, especially with public transportation. The pushback is always loud when it comes to expanding access. Like letting more people move around freely is some kind of threat.
It’s not really about planes or buses. It’s about who gets access—and who doesn’t. Because being able to go where you need to go? That’s power. And limiting that has never affected everybody equally.
I'm sure there were a multitude of other reasons but it is something to think about. Republicans have forever and a day had problems with poor people and minorities having the means to travel. Even public transportation, they will jump across hell holding a can of gasoline to stop it.
I swear Republicans love constituents living their worst lives. They want you uneducated, sick, hell, dead, hungry, poor, just without.
They just want to keep you full of hate, anger, and ignorance.
