I mean it. It’s time for everyone to touch grass.
It's just time.

Classwork outside at Marquette University
That spot in between those two trees was my classroom today!! The prof offered to have class outside because the weather was gorgeous, and although it was a little inconvenient for note-taking (we sat in the grass in a circle), the fresh air was lovely and I felt more refreshed afterwards 🌸I love my tiny, beautiful campus!
Shakespearience: Day 4
Started off the day with a fantastic backstage tour of the Festival Theatre, then had a quick impromptu class session outside. Saw the wonderful Twelfth Night, and the brilliant Timon of Athens at the Tom Patterson Theatre. After each play we also had the opportunity to speak with several actors as well.

Forest Explorers ™
I’m in Honors Modern Literature and the Arts. Today we were supposed to go outside a create something only from nature or what we find along the way. It was to be inspired by Andy Goldsworthy’s work, which I love. Spending a class period outdoors in the woods was quite nice. This is what classrooms should look like.
Yesterday, my city mate Leah who teaches at a different school here in Tongren came to visit my class. My students came up with many interesting questions along with many of the usual questions we as foreigners get asked. Like, “do you like China?” Or “do you like spicy food?” They were a little nervous to talk with a different foreigner but they were cute. After the questions we took the class outside for some yoga. Leah taught the students a few simple yoga poses. We all had a lot of fun, thanks Leah!
