Do you guys know if SOSC 1000 is starting this week?
You need to check the course list that York has updated on the labour disruption site, I made a post on it yesterday so you’ll find it when you scroll back.

What does it mean if I can't find any of my courses on the list and none of my profs have sent out any emails regarding the resumption of classes?
It means you don’t have class.

How are people finding out which classes are/are not resuming?
There is a list provided by the school on the labour disruption page.

We also posted the link in our strike tag and important updates tag.

Hi, I had a question. Tonight I got an email from the President of York that said "During the meeting, Senators voted down a motion calling upon "Senate Executive Committee to continue the suspension of all classes that have not yet resumed until the end of the labour disruption." Does this mean that classes that would have started on Monday are cancelled? Just kind of confused on what it meant.
No, it means that the Senate members have decided to continue to resume classes in LAPS and FES despite being asked not to.

Hey I know this sounds silly, but as I was watching what president Mamdouh had to say about the strike, he said "I welcome students back" is he only referring to the students of the classes that have already been resumed, or is he referring to all students for all classes? Thank you in advance for answering 😊
From what I understood; he’s referring to all students who returned to class since March 11, so that’s basically students in all faculties except LAPS and Environmental Studies - they’re supposed to resume classes from March 23rd.

Hey there! Maybe I'm not looking properly, but has the courses resuming list not been updated for those starting on the 23rd? I can't seem to find any.
The course list can be found here and it might take them some time to update, my courses weren’t updated till today (yet they resumed yesterday) but my professors emailed me to explain what would be happening. So check your email for prof updates in the coming few days if you don’t see your courses on the list.

Hi my VISA1006 prof sent an email saying she's leaving March 17 and the lectures are now going to be transferred to online courses. Idk who to contact about this. This is extremely unfair I didn't pay for ONLINE lectures. Plus how are we supposed to finish the course now? If she makes the lectures online do tutorials still continue? Can I email a dean or talk to someone high up in position because this is so unfair
Hello anon,
I’m not really sure what you can do in this position in order to change what’s happening, and I agree that it’s unfair. You can try contacting the course director and talk to him/her, maybe they can help. There will be no tutorials because the TAs are on strike, and they’re the ones who normally run them.

Hey. So just to be sure, the remainder of classes don't resume today right? Is it tomorrow?
The Senate is meeting today to discuss which classes should resume, so no there’s still no class today for the rest of us. If you have twitter, most updates are first posted there.
