There are lots of things to love in Vanitas, but my favorite thing is that it's the greatest classic vampire crossover outside of Anno Dracula, with the added benefit of being packed to the brim with queer subtext ^^ Lord Byron Ruthven is here ! Count Orlock too ! One of the character is later revealed to be freaking Francis Varney ! All we lack now is for the vampire queen to be revealed as Carmilla and I will feel happy :) Bonus : the inquisition members have a thematic naming based on Orlando Furioso

Rant time!

Classical vampires (deadly sun and silver allergy) in modern stories piss me off.

One, sunblock exists and there are plenty humans that burn easily, it makes no sense for them to be the sort that remain perpetually trapped indoors until night time. And beyond that, there are too many people that are nightowls either by choice or career, someone not coming out during the daytime is not a big deal!

Two, mirrors being backed with silver was why vampires could not see their reflections. Modern mirrors are backed with ALUMINUM. Meaning vampires should be able to see their reflections in modern mirrors and I will never stop being mad most media fails to use this!

My friend wrote a short story about a lady vampire and I'm heated about it because WHY IS HER LACK OF REFLECTION HOW THE HUMAN FIGURES OUT SHE'S A VAMPIRE!? THE MIRRORS ARE ALL MODERN, THERE'S NO SILVER, SHE SHOULD HAVE A DAMN REFLECTION!!!!

I recently got around to play 'Vampyr', needless to say I rather love Dr. Reid as a character so I decided to sketch him up for craps. He's got a great design and after going through the game twice doing both a pacifist run and a genocide run I can faithfully say I enjoy more goodie two shoes Reid. I think it suits his personality even if I did get a kick out of scaring Dr. Swansea or some of the other characters with the more evil slanted dialogue options.

I don't get to play a whole lot of games very often these days but I'd definitely recommend folks to chomp into Vampyr - it was one hell of a ride. Definitely right up my alley - I do have a big soft spot for some classic vampires or turn of the 20th century settings.

I have three moods rn;

1. I want to be a vampire

2. I want a vampire boyfriend who will later turn me into a vampire after we've been dating for a couple of years after we've had a thorough discussion about turning me and then we will later get a big castle and raise hundreds of orphans because we can't have children of our own and want to give the gift of life to children and also because my vampire boyfriend never had a good childhood and want to make sure the children have good dads and then later some vampire hunter will come and try to murder us but we will show him the kindess of our hearts but he will then betray us and murder my vampire boyfriend but not me because he doesn't know I'm a vampire boyfriend, and then I'll be a sad vampire without a boyfriend but I will continue to raise children and eventually open an orphanage so my boyfriends name can live on and then I will move on with my death and join him in the vampire-afterlife

3. I do like chocolate
