Getting my hopes up

Last week I was astonished because there was a chance of a potential friendship starting. 

You should know that I don’t really have any friends, just 2 people with whom I sit in 2 classes. Last week, one of them told me she had 2 free cinema tickets and, to my surprise, asked me if I wanted to go to the cinema with her, to spend time outside class as well. I was amazed, since I never thought she would want to be friends outside class, because she has already plenty of friends. I said, yes of course, and that I was pleased she asked me. We settled for the Hunger Games as potential film.

I was really very pleased that she asked me, out of all her friends, so I really looked forward to it.

Six days later, she sends me a message saying she’s already going to the cinema with other friends, to see the Hunger Games. “But we can still do something else...?”. 

Imagine how I feel now.
