The words seem the same as the last three months. The First Order have destroyed another Rebel Base. They’re making strives in a peace that everyone knows is false. All the major players of the rebellion are trapped in the prison created for them. He hasn’t been outside in months. Once a year they’re taken to the spot they were fighting when the snap occurred. When Poe watched his friends turn into atoms in front of him. Some times he wishes he’d been taken too.

Gunshots tear him from his mindless reading and the two guards who are always with him switch off the recorder and make sure his cuffs are in place. Poe doesn’t know what to think. No one has ever gone against them since the rebellion fell. So who was this?

Snap would say he's surprised to hear the concern coming from BB, but he's known her long enough now that he's learned of her habit to worry not just over Poe, but everyone in the Squadron as well.

It's comforting, to say the least, and it makes Snap's chest burn with a soft warmth.

"A few cycles, give or take." He replies, surprisingly honest. He imagines with the way Poe lies to him, he probably also lies to BB just as often. "Things are pretty bleak, BB. I don't think many of us have slept much."

Jess looks oddly taken back by BB's question, wondering briefly if she's being genuine or if the question is meant to be rhetorical.

Either way, the thought of BB punching Poe in the face on her behalf makes Jess bark out a laugh. Poe would never see that one coming.

"As much as I'd love to see the look on his face, I'll have to pass. That jerk usually figures out when he's in the doghouse with one of us and squares it up. It's almost more fun to watch him come up like an animal with its tail between its legs."

The pilot should have known she’d follow him here. He’d thought the fact he drove Black One into a tree should have shown he isn’t planning on leaving his new final home. After a self discharge from the resistance he flew back to Yavin 4. Back to the family homestead with the force tree still growing strong. He knows that General Organa, Finn, Rey and BB hadn’t agreed but in the end they couldn’t keep him there. He broke out before they could convince him to stay.

He’s sat with his back against the bark of the force tree and hoping maybe it’s energy will heal his own. Make him whole again when he feels like a shell. A dead man walking. “Thought my exit was pretty clear, Bethany.” He sighs.

While the princess approves of the ginger’s creative problem solving skills, she’s also desperately checking her over for signs of injury.
