Help a Teacher!!!
I have a good friend, Robert, who is a teacher. He teaches at an inner-city school in Houston. As you know, teachers are under-appreciated and underpaid. They also have to buy supplies for their students out of their own wallet. He has created an Amazon Wish List of supplies he absolutely NEEDS to teach and support his students. If you can donate ANYTHING -- even the cheapest thing on the list -- it will be greatly appreciated.
Here is what Robert has to say about his school:
"My campus is a Title-I school in a well-known historic black neighborhood of Houston. Every bit you can do for the students will help them even though I hate asking for help. The snack items are because I like to keep a reserve of items for the students who stay late to work because they feel that being in my classroom is better than what's going on at home. Please don't feel any pressure to purchase anything but I tried to keep various price-points there so anyone who felt the urge could provide help. Anything you can do will be a wealth of help for my amazing students."
I have known him for several years and he has never once complained about his situation as a teacher or asked for help. He loves teaching History and speaks so fondly about his students. Do you remember the teachers you had that changed your life for the better? HE IS ONE OF THOSE TEACHERS. If you can afford anything at all, it would be greatly appreciated if you could help him out. Thank you!
