wada sez: Although Arcee’s narration mentions the Wreckers, I nonetheless would place this strip as a reaction to the Sunbow cartoon. In The Transformers: The Movie, Arcee and Hot Rod clearly share something of a romance. But in the third season, with Hot Rod having become Rodimus Prime, there was a sudden shift where Arcee and Springer were instead presented as a couple! Insofar as the movie pulls from Star Wars, this plays into the Hot Rod/Luke Arcee/Leia Springer/Han parallels. Previews below.
