Hi I see you're bored. What's your favourite thing to write? Mine is dialogue. Preferably snarky and ridiculous.

I love writing dialogue! But my favorite thing has to be actions during dialogue. It tells so much of the story and can change the dialogue significantly.

Never have I ever broken a bone

Lucky you! I have. Gosh, I’ll never forget it.

I was sixteen and starting a new high school in San Francisco. My mom, sister, and I just moved there over the summer, and I was really hoping to make a good impression, ya know?

Couple weeks in, I’m actually on the verge of making some friends, and I’m so excited but so nervous. You know what they wanted to go do after school? Skateboard. And guess who was too awkward and nervous at sixteen to admit he didn’t know how to skateboard? This guy.

But I knew how to surf, so I thought maybe it would be just as easy. Weeeeeeeell…

Keeping my balance was easy. Thinking I was cool enough to try a trick on a grind rail? Yeah, let’s just say I wasn’t. Broke my arm and was unable to do anything cool for months.

But! I did make friends. Well two of them out of that group. They could relate to my troubles, so they thought it was all funny but in a “hey I get it,” kinda way. And one of them got me into the robotics club, which actually was cool.

And no, I haven’t been on a skateboard since, but I still surf.
