Whumptober 4- Running Out of Time
Artemis kept her breathing steady. Or, she tried to.
It was hard to when you were stuck in a glass box underground running out of air because you lost the tournament.
“It’s apart of training,” he had said.
How? How in the hell?
But she didn’t have time to wonder or question his methods. She needed to get out of the box.
She had no idea how long she had before her air was gone and she would suffocate. Her hands went up, pushing at the glass. She couldn’t even see, and it was dark.. She hated the dark. Dark meant bad. It meant she was bad, it meant punishment was soon. It meant monsters lurking, loud noises suddenly screaming-
Her mind was racing.
Break it. Break it. Break it.
That seemed to be the only solution. But then the dirt.. It wasn’t that much. But the sensation of being buried still made her hands tremble. She felt as if the worms were crawling all around her. It made her shudder violently.
She adjusted herself, slamming her knee against the top of the glass box. it hurt, but she kept going. Slamming her knee over and over into the glass, until she heard the glass crunch. Please.
Her heart surged with hope, and she did it again. Over and over until there was warm liquid running down her thigh and shin, the air starting to thin. She became more frantic as panic set in. She was trapped, about to die.
No. No.
Her vision was going dark. Darker than this underground small hell. It was fading to pitch black as she tried not to breathe heavily. Her lungs shook, it seemed. In fear. Just as her hands did.
One last slam. The glass shattered and rained down, along with dirt., and she reached down to the glass and physically tore apaprt more glass, not caring if it stabbed into her hands. She got most of the top glass to shatter, and it got into her face and hair but that didn;t matter.
She reached a hand through to the top, through the cold dirt- until she felt cool-
air. Outside.
Artemis forced herself up, both hands poking out of the soil, covered in blood and mud, fingers outstretched in desperation.
But that was when her vison completely went out.
Well, we’re off to a great start. ( @lordofthelostworld )
Qudy didn’t mind having to go up stairs the majority of the time - the exercise did wonders on improving his climbing skills - but the one time he decides to use the elevator for a change ends up going just as well as one can expect with the luck he’s had over the years..
Was it an earthquake? Technical failure? Power outage? Whatever it was, the elevator suddenly halted in its way up, with the lights inside going out.
“GAH!!” With the brakes getting hit, the fast movement (or rather the lack of) nearly caused Qudy to lose his footing.
“....O-oh no....”
I've finally figured out why being in NYC is tweaking me out so bad.
It's small.
I'm cramped in a room smaller than my bedroom on a bunk bed and I'm scared and I just wanna run.
So I'm gonna try to do some replies and maybe memes?? Send me things?
