If you really think about it, what Ritsu was going to do for Mob during Confession Arc (allow himself to be hurt again to snap Mob out of the state he was in) is pretty much exactly what Mob did for him during the Cleanup/Claw Arc of season 1. Mob’s wasn’t intentional or planned out like Ritsu’s was going to be, but he found Ritsu in a violent and abnormal mental state and accepted him fully despite his actions, allowing himself to be bullied to protect Ritsu from enduring the pain of the consequences of his actions. And it was this self-sacrificial beating Mob endured from Koyama that snapped Ritsu fully out of his rebellion and bloodthirst by begging some “super powerful being” not to hurt him (like Mob did to himself in his head).
Also, “Half of that is true, isn’t it?”/“Dont bother trying to get rid of me. Because I’m your brother.” VS “This isn’t some separate, scary version of you. It’s a part of you.”/“Because I’m your younger brother.”
[ID: A series of Mob Pyscho 100 screencaps, here described in pairs.
Ritsu with shadowed eyes and Mob with solid glowing white eyes.
Mob looking serious or neutral and Ritsu with a fearful, shocked expression.
Mob kneeling with a genuine smile and Ritsu smiling with self-assurance.
Ritsu crying and looking battered and Mob sweating and looking harrowed. End ID]
But Ritsu decided to change the ending this time, and end the cycle of self-sacrificial trauma.
Of course, parallels in Confession Arc is a given bc it’s half of the entire point, but it’s fun to explore them.

I’m still not over
This comment. This fucking comment is the funniest part of the whole episode. Because this dumbass is speaking from experience as the victim but he owns it well enough that if you hadn’t already known you’d never be able to tell.
The way their lines could be interchangeable here. What is easy and gleeful for Koyama is painful and wretched for Shigeo, but the outcome is exactly the same. If anything, even worse from Shigeo, as he intended this to be the end of Dimple. Merciless, but only one carries the burden.
I still strongly believe that the first Koyama beatdown in season one was Mob’s most vicious in all the show. The S2E9 one comes close, with 100% obsession, but in that one he was being efficient. Beating those people was simply a means to reach his objective. Another runner up, of course, is the myriad of ???% beatdowns in Mob arc, but even that was simply a means to an end. His GOAL wasn’t to maim so much as it was to reach Tsubomi with all these people getting in the way.
Mob wanted Koyama DEAD. There’s a difference between rage and animosity (that the dub totally ignored lmao making his line “this is the first time this has happened” completely meaningless)—rage is an extreme form of anger, and animosity is described as “hatred leading to active hostility”. Enmity and a desire to hurt. For the first time, he wanted to use his powers on another person.
The way he picked up Koyama by the FACE with two fucking fingers and did some Shimazaki shit where he teleported him into the concrete is one of the most insane moments in the whole show. “Just so you know, this is all your fault. Don’t even show your face around here ever again.” Good fucking lord. A waking nightmare. I for real thought koyama was dead after he was exploded through the building. I was fully willing to accept that Mob killed a man after that performance
Shou @ Ritsu: hey sorry about burning ur house down , wanna go do telekinesis at my dad until he dies ?
To the people surprised about Reigen being the Claw’s Boss.
Mob’s Boss
