Are you familiar with l'appel du vide? The call of the void is a call commonly heard; it's a seductive thing, to be faced upfront with the possibility of your own immediate destruction. Only natural that many would hear it and be beset by thoughts to enact that self-destruction. It is generally considered inadvisable to give in to that call to throw oneself from a cliff or whatever the individual call in question is, at least not without precautions. Despite that, many do go so far as to take those precautions and seek out that near-death thrill, and they go to great lengths and great pains to do so. It's enjoyable. Which is all to say, you should really stop complaining and start thanking me for kneading my claws into your thighs
