Clay!Sans, a DEMO Character

I can’t tell you that, but I can tell his character type. He has the same annoying owner as Classic. Have I found Toby’s secret Sans AU? That’s a mystery easy to solve if you seen any of his other creations aside from Undertale. Don’t spoil yourself though! ...Or do....g, if you already know where and how to find him.

Clay is exactly like Classic Sans, but lives on the surface. No reskin, no recolor, a full clone and possibly his lost twin brother like dreamtale and papyrus doesnt know it (JKJK). I am going to mention this term: DEMO character. There is no acronym for DEMO, but I can make it up: Development Exclusive Most Original. It can feel exclusive to play a DEMO game, because most underdeveloped games are FREE. They are truly DEMO. 

DEMO characters, a term I made up for people in fandoms, are characters that aren’t fully developed. They live in a world that is not finished, and won’t be finished until the full release. Now that will take forever, I know, and it is very saddening for Clay to be a DEMO character because we will mess around with him and his nonexistent physical features until his world Is fully finished and released within the next couple of years.

Why is his AU label name Clay? Just like actual clay in architecture or pottery hobbies, we mold the clay’s shape. We aren’t done molding the clay’s shape until it is completely into its desired form and polished to become the final product. As for Clay, he is Classic but a DEMO character. Not everything about him is revealed. Yes, same for Classic, but Classic’s world has already been finished. So, he does NOT count as a DEMO character. 

Other examples of those types of characters? No one else. Fangames for AUs do not make Sans AUs DEMO characters, only the original creator of the original base. so Clay is the only one. 

They can be messed, interpreted around easily with fandom’s contents, let that be fanfiction and headcanons. DEMO characters are no longer DEMO when they are fully developed by the creator AND/OR the creator’s team. When these characters show more of their canon facts, all fandom content you put into this character is just a dream, and they will no longer adjust to your headcanons or any shippings you did with them (unless you’re stubborn enough to keep them paired with their other, that’s fine). The next day after all fandom content is removed from the character, they will be role-played properly when most canon facts are revealed.
