How I Clean My Room
(even when its a disaster - the neurodivergent guide)
I call this method the Colour Wheel Clean-up Method
1. make your bed. < no matter how messy the room is, making your bed will make it feel less overwhelming.
2. pick your colour palette and play some bangers 🎶. <count how many colours you have in your bedroom and make a little list of them. (my bedroom is full rainbow explosion)
3. red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, white is my list.
4. begin with your first colour, only put away and straighten things from that colour.
5. TAKE BREAKS BUT COME BACK!! seriously, about 8 minutes is a long enough break, have a snack, some water, breathe and get your butt back to it! you can do it. :)
6. keep going with each colour! if you've gone through every colour and there's still more, start at your first colour again!
🌱 Remember that you are not a bad person for having a messy or disorganized space. sometimes tasks can be overwhelming, or the world can be overwhelming. (I feel ya, trust me.)
