Rating: 3/5 would not repurchase due to the lack of ease in use.
This product right here was so, so, so close to being my holy grail makeup remover.
Sigh. But alas, it came with some flaws.
Let’s start at the beginning shall we?
The Body Shop’s Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is soothing to the face and mind. After a long day of work, it felt so relaxing to rub this in and clean my face. All the while breathing in the calming scent of chamomile.
This cleansing butter is really something special. I’m not sure whose soul Body Shop sold to create this. But it feels like a science experiment gone right every time I use it.
The cleansing butter is a solid when you take it out of the pan, but melts in the warmth of your skin. After it’s application on your skin, and ability to dissolve the makeup, It’s also incredibly easy to wash off. When your face touches water, the cleansing butter turns into a soap-y consistency.
How amazing is that???
I would also like to add (my personal opinion) that just like any other types of cleansers/makeup removers, I do not think that only using one product will help remove ALL trances of oil, grime, & makeup. As such, I always follow-up with a thorough cleanse with my Fresh Peony Cleanser.
( Let me know here if you want me to share my everyday night time routine! )
The cleansing butter is relatively affordable at SGD$26.90 and allows Body Shop members to get further discount on it. It is 90ml of product, and just a little bit on a spatula goes a long way. Tough waterproof makeup just melts away when you rub the butter all over your face.
Sigh. I really like this product. I do.
My only problem with it, is that it’s not easily “accessible”. I have to use a spatula to dig a little bit of product out before placing it on my hands. Once on my hands, I have to quickly apply it on my face because if I don’t, it just slips and slides off my face and onto the floor.
With the hassle of using a spatula comes storage and cleaning of an extra item. And Yes, I know I could just use my fingers, but it doesn’t seem all that appealing to the “germaphobe” in me.
That’s why if you are not a clean freak like me, I would more than recommend this product. I have oily to combination skin and it doesn’t even aggravate my skin condition at all. In fact, the cleansing butter it leaves my skin soft and supple.
