Just to follow up on yesterday’s blog, the “Clear Sole” or “White Cement 30th Anniversary” has a release date. They are set to release February 14th for $200 USD. Just like I predicted, they feature a clear outsole with a small modification to the 2003 sample. I think I like the sample more; however, I think the 2018 version will stand the test of time a little better. We all know, if the 3s had a fully clear toe tip they’d look hideous after they started yellowing. Like have you seen a super worn pair of the black 5lab3s or the Doernbecher Jordan IIIs? 😳 Exactly! Either way, go ahead and call these the “Clear Soles” like everyone else because I think this is as close as we’re going to get to the 2003 Sample.
But look, take heed that the title reads “White Cement” 30th Anniversary *AS NRG.* Always pay attention to the acronyms at the end because they could tell you how limited they are. Of course, the “AS” stands for All-Star; being that it will be an All-Star Weekend release. BUT every time that “NRG” is in the mix, it’s more than likely a super limited release. The NRG label was attached to sneaks like the Air Yeezy 2, Galaxy Foamposites, and the more recent “Gold Top 3” Jordan 1s; you know... sneakers that you won’t find just sitting on shelves. NRG is just a play off letters meaning “Energy,” but I gave it my own meaning: Not Releasing Generally! All that to say this, do not sleep because they are projected to be super limited! I think I may have enough pull to grab a couple of pair, so if you need me reach me through REVAMP26.com! Appearance-wise, which one do you prefer: the 2003 Sample or The 2018 Release? Drop your answers.
