Ah, the Fosters. What a beautiful mess they are...

As you can see, Zelda never married but eventually had a son with her teenage sweetheart (and long-time lover) Marcus Irving. Laurie (Romance/ Knowledge) decided to follow in his father's footsteps and become a musician himself. He eventually fell in love with a fellow romance sim, Hattie Kicklighter and even wanted to marry her. She left him at the altar, though, and he ended up marrying one of his other loves, Anita, a popularity sim, on a rebound. Nevertheless, they've been rather happy, eventually having a son named Bruno.

Maisie married Luis Carver and had two sons with him. The eldest, Hamish (Popularity/ Family), also decided to follow in his father's footsteps and recently took over his businesses after he passed. He married Cleo Irving (Fortune/ Popularity) and had two daughters with her, Catriona and Isobel. He has recently caught Cleo cheating with Johnny Youngblood and they got divorced. However, there might be a reunion in the works.

Hamish's younger brother Fergus lives on a farm across the road from the Foster Family Farm. Hamish and his family lived with him but after Fergus' wife had the twins, I made the executive decision to move them out and back into the main household. Fergus (Fortune/ Family, just like his mother!) met Rosemary at Agave Bar and they have been besotted with each other ever since. She's a family sim as well (primary, though) and so they had a lot of children to no one's surprise. Rosamund and Hadley are already well into their teenage years, while twins Brandon and Florence were a bit of a surprise to everyone, but they are about to grow up soon as well, hopefully giving everyone on the farm time to... actually work the farm.

All three boys of generation two actually grew up together as Zelda and Maisie decided to share the farm rather than one of them moving out. They are also quite close in age since Zelda had Laurie late in life. Imagine my surprise when Bruno and Isobel had two bolts (they're second cousins on both sides... yay). It's a weird situation and I'm interested to see how it'll play out. They were each other's first kisses and I was horrified.

And lastly, the Irvings.

Fun fact: for a Popularity/ Family sim, Caleb's private life was kind of terrible. Cleo is his oldest daughter. He married her mother, Taylor Wooten (another teenage sweetheart) very young. Taylor, unfortunately, cheated on him with Luis Carver (prior to his marriage with Maisie) during Tallulah's wedding party. He broke up with her as soon as little Cleo was born.

Caleb was pretty desperate for a new relationship and settled on Bernadette Redgrave (the cheerleader) even though they did not share a single bolt of chemistry. Nevertheless, they married and had twins, Billie and Dexter. Billie, as you know, married into the Musgrove clan.

Dexter (Popularity/Romance) also settled quite young, surprisingly so for a romance sim. However, his marriage is much more stable than his dad's. He and his wife Orla (Popularity/ Fortune) are quite successful in their respective careers and have two children, Elliot, who's currently away at college, and Fallon.

After a while, Caleb and Bernadette's marriage fell apart and both of them cheated on each other. Caleb with Zelda Foster of all sims, and Bernadette with James Trainor, a family sim she was much better matched with. After they caught each other, they broke up and Bernadette moved in with her new boyfriend.

However, when all of this happend, she was unknowingly pregnant by Caleb and their last son, Adam, was born shortly before her wedding to James. He carries the Regrave name. As a knowledge sim, he and his friend Edward Musgrove were the first sims to attend college. There he met Prof. Orange and had a short fling with her. He then fell in love with a dormie called Evelyn but never was that serious about her, rather focussing on his career after moving back to Barrel's End. She eventually caught him on a date with Isolde Oddell and ended things. To my surprise, he didn't choose either of those ladies in the end and instead settled down with his first crush, Prof. Orange. They recently welcomed their first child, Peregrine Redgrave.

Bernadette had a long and happy marriage with James, even adopting a distant relative of his, Malik. James died when Malik was a toddler and Bernadette followed a few years later. Malik was taken by social services (Bernadette's roommate, Acacia was out shopping when Bernadette died) and adopted by his sister Billie.

Caleb decided to give marriage one more try and proposed to his girlfriend Acacia Glover after reaching the elder stage. She, however, left him at the altar and moved out after a lot of fighting. Caleb eventually fixed things with his first wife Taylor and they lived together until his death, even though both of them restrained from wanting to marry each other.

Thoughts on the Irving family?

The Irving Family is a complicated matter. While there are other family situations that are certainly much more complicated then they were before with those previously pushing up daisies coming back and to San Francisco; the Irvings are interesting. They certainly complicate everything and I never know how many to prepare tea for so god knows I’ll have to pull out the gossip kings mugs for that. Speaking of coming back from the dead or the lack there of… that brings us to the matter of Peter Irving. He’s got such fabulous skin - wonder how he keeps it that way. The man has his secrets like the fact he is the eldest brother and yet looks so much younger. Part of me - all of me really - believes he’s a vampire not that his sisters know that and what a shock that is going to be surely for the two of them and all they’ve had to endure. Oh Peter you’re a gorgeous man but oh my lambs Peter you got some splainin to do… Or I could just be shooting into the dark here because the tea is a delicate matter and you never know. He might just have really good skin.

Cleo and Clarissa are curious cases as well. Clarissa is divinely blessed, sweet and benevolent and sugar wouldn’t melt in her mouth she is such a good person. Cleo is an acquired taste but is the other side of the same coin - she’s the fight and the fire and to put it in food terms she’s the spicy sriracha sauce that adds that little bit of oomph. I personally just want the sisters to be happy and to know they’re going to be okay. Well I hope so but with Peter’s arrival and god knows what else I’m not sure if that’s possible or what lies on the horizon but ladies there is a fresh pot on, you’re welcome here and if you say he’s alright to let in the house we can have him in the salon. We can save a whole truck load of tissues for the family reunion because I feel its going to be a tear jerker.
