Clarification: The children of Leon & Claire in this fanfic are my own original characters that I myself wrote and thought of.
"Mommy, mommy, I found it." Marianna came running into her parents bedroom, carrying her dress for the dance in one hand. It was one she hand picked from the tailor when Claire took her, she fell in love instantly. "Great! Set it on the bed honey, we'll get you into it once your hair and makeup is done." Claire said softly to her daughter, pulling her own brunette hair into a low, messy ponytail.
Leon and Marianna have a daddy daughter dance to attend at her school today. Marianna is in fourth grade and each year, ever since kindergarten, the school has hosted events similar to these. This time of year is one of their favorites. Claire just loves to see her amazing husband and beautiful daughter walk off together in their fancy clothing. Claire knows that once Marianna enters her teen years, she'll most likely hate these dances, so she cherishes these moments extra.
Currently, Leon is getting their three year old son, Sam, into bed. It's 6 PM, his bed time and just one hour before the dance. Claire should be able to have their daughter ready by then, she's a patient girl and won't be too jumpy while Claire gets her all around.
"Alright spider monkey, sit down at my vanity while I go grab the supplies to start doing your makeup, okay?" Spider monkey is the nickname Claire gave her as she got older and more energetic. "Okay momma." Marianna responded, listening well and going over to Claire's desk, a mirror hanging right across from it. Claire made her way quickly to her and Leon's bathroom, picking through what makeup she'd want to use on Marianna.
Of course, it won't have to be anything extravagant. Claire plans to only do some lip tint, sparkly eyeshadow and mascara. Marianna is only eleven, she doesn't need a lot of makeup on, even for a fun event such as tonight.
Once she got what she needed, she placed it all in one of her many makeup bags. Through a magazine, Claire gets monthly makeup and makeup bags, she's collected so, so many by now that she can't even keep track. She zipped up the bag and when turning, saw Leon exit their young sons bedroom with a content look on his face. "Hey baby." Hi." Leon replied, quickly resting his hands on Claire's hips. "Is Sam asleep?" "Yes, he'll be lights out for the rest of the night." "Great." Claire flashed her pearly whites at Leon.
"What's that?" Leon asked her, wondering what was in the bag. The bag had a floral design to it, it was small but got the job done. "Just some makeup for Marianna, she refuses to go unless she's wearing some." "Go figure." Leon snorted, his eyes shooting up to the open door to their shared bedroom. Marianna was being a good girl, staying seated and being respectful as she waited for Claire to come back.
"Is your suit ready?" "It is, it's hanging in the garage." "Do you think Marianna will notice you've been wearing the same suit every year since she was a kindergartener?" "Maybe someday when she looks back at the photo albums you make." Leon laughed, squeezing Claire's fibrow hip. "Well, go get dressed and eat something and make Mari something too, I want you two to eat on the way there and be careful while you guys do, no need for a mess!" "Yes ma'am." Leon snickered.
He brought his face to hers as he kissed her cheek lightly, pulling away and caressing where he kissed before he then treaded off, doing as Claire asked of him.
During times like these, times were Claire has to plan out what to do and when, she becomes a control freak, no doubt. In her eyes, she just wants everything to go according to plan. If even the slightest thing happens such as a makeup malfunction or a piece of hair doesn't curl well enough, Claire will begin to really become frustrated really fast.
Of course, Leon and Marianna are always there to keep Claire sane.
Claire struted back to Marianna, setting the makeup bag down and unzipping it. "What makeup do I get to wear?" "I brought in some lip tint, eyeshadow and mascara. It'll look somewhat natural, that's the key to beautiful makeup." Claire stated, pulling the three products of makeup out and placing them in front of Marianna. Claire could already tell Marianna was a girlie girl and that brought immense joy to Claire. Sam is a little bit of everything, such a wild child.
"Where's dad?" "Currently getting ready as well and once you're all done, we can reveal how pretty you look to him, sound good?" Marianna nodded with assurance, excitement spread all over her adorable, little face. "Okay, first, I'm gonna do your lip tint just to get that out of the way so pucker up, buttercup." Claire snickered, twisting the cap off of it and getting it ready. Marianna giggled, puckering up her small, rosey lips.
Claire applied the matte materialized lip tint to Marianna's lips, applying it til the color actually appeared. It really fit well with Marianna's blue eyes, she got them from her daddy. She got Claire's hair though, of course, her genes are stronger. "Such a cutie." Claire glimmered at her daughter, really loving moments such as these. Marianna looked in the mirror and checked herself out. She'll definitely be a makeup girl when she hits her teen years, maybe even earlier!
"Do you like it?" "Yes mom, it looks very nice. Did you ever go to a dance with grandpa?" Marianna's words struck Claire in a different way. Her father, Marianna's grandpa, never did. Claire loves her father, always has, even in death, but he wasn't as present as he should have been. "Sadly, no, then again, I didn't spend much time with any family other than Uncle Chris, sweetheart." "Oh I love Uncle Chris." Marianna changed the subject. "I wish he could see how pretty I look." "He will, don't worry." Claire chuckled, adoring how her daughter admired her uncle.
Chris is an amazing uncle. The day Marianna was born, he was there, being super supportive. Chris is just naturally a very compassionate and nurturing person and he's taken both traits and pushed them even further onto his niece and nephew. Him and Marianna have always been a tad more closed than he is with Sam, but Sam has always been the quieter kiddo. Claire and Leon don't have favorites, that's simply wrong.
"Let's do eyeshadow next, that way I don't mess up the mascara." Claire stated. "Which color would you like? There's a glittery white, gray, pink and purple, all in which will match your dress." Marianna thought long and hard. She gazed at each color temporarily. She decided on the purple, that's the primary color of her dress. "That's my girl." Claire giggled, dabbing some of the substance onto her index. She would use an applicator, but this just seems easier and more efficient.
Marianna closed her eyes and sat still. Although, she couldn't help but giggle as Claire began to put the eye makeup on her. "That tickles." "It will, sit still baby." Claire bellowed, her finger now moving to her other eye, blending it all in perfectly. Marianna looked her cutest. The makeup wasn't too much, just right. It suited her well. Besides, she's eleven anyways, no need for a lot. "You look so adorable." "Thanks mommy." Marianna responded softly.
"Mascara time!" Claire voiced quietly as she picked up the tube, but then Leon's deep voice could be heard. "Hun, can you come give me a hand?" He shouted, needing Claire's assistance with God knows what. "Yeah babe, I'm coming." Claire yelled back. Her eyes shot down to Marianna, a gleam on her face. "Just stay here honey." Claire spoke to her child, patting her shoulder before making haste to Leon, wanting to help him as soon as she could. They have to be at the school by 7:00 PM for the dance.
She ambled to Leon, seeing he was already in his get up, looking handsome as always. "Mmm, look at you baby." Claire laughed, setting her hands on her hips, checking her husband out. "You like it?" "Love it, you're so sexy." Claire moved her hands to his chest, running her hands up and down it which led her to realize what the issue was; He couldn't tie his tie. "Ohhh I see." "Yeah, can you, please?" "Sure thing babe, give it to me." Leon then handed her his tie, it was a dark shade of grey.
Claire began to adjust the tie, making it look dapper on Leon. He usually can do his own ties, but Claire thinks he just wanted her around for a little bit until he has to leave.
"You and Marianna are going to look the cutest out of everybody there, I swear." "Oh definitely, but her beauty outshines the rest." Leon raved about his daughter, praising her. Claire giggled, looking up into his eyes, immediately becoming lost in them. "Oh definitely." "She gets that from you though." Leon huffed out a laugh, but he meant his words. Claire is beautiful. Their children are beautiful, Claire's genes came through really well.
Claire blushed. She gandered down briskly, her eyes focusing on his tie. Leon took clear notice of the fact he made her all warm inside. He melted her.
"I love you Leon, and your corny ways of showing you love me." "Corny? How dare you!" Leon snickered, pulling her against him, holding her back gently. "Oh you know it is true." "Maybe..." Claire drew herself closer to his face, pressing her lips to his. They were always quite affectionate, especially physically. Leon breathed in a sharp breath, loving the way Claire felt against him in this very moment. After a couple more seconds, Claire pulled away, caressing his face.
"Alright, I have to help Mari still, how about you go make you and her some food, okay?" Claire questioned her husband. "Of course, just yell when she's ready." "I will." Claire replied, quickly kissing his cheek then making way back to Marianna.
"Hey babygirl." "What did Dad need?" "Just some help with his outfit... Now how about we get started on your mascara, hm?" "Yesss!" Marianna spoke with glee, she went back to facing forward towards the mirror. Claire picked the bottle of mascara back up, shaking it lightly before opening it, seeing the black goop on the wand. This was a fancier brand of mascara, it'll really make Marianna's eyes look gorgeous. Claire uses it from time to time.
"Now, each time I swipe the mascara up, blink, okay?" Claire stated, her directions clear and simple. Marianna just nodded, facing Claire. With one hand, Claire held onto Marianna's chin, the other applying said makeup to her face. Marianna listened well, blinking each time Claire swiped her hand up. It really did make her eyes pop with glow. She's going to grow up to be such a beautiful young woman.
"It looks fantastic, take a look." Claire said with pure love for her daughter. She set the mascara, eyeshadow and lip tint back into the makeup bag since she was all done. "I do look pretty, momma." "Yes, yes you do." Claire gave her a grin. Claire raised not only Marianna but Sam as well to have utter confidence in their selves and it's paying off beautifully. She never wants her children to doubt themselves when they're amazing, great human beings.
"I'll let you choose what hair style I do on you, how's that sound?" "Mom, you already know what I'm gonna say." It was true. Marianna loves to have her hair braided. Right before bed every night, Claire braids it for her, that way her hair is somewhat curly the next morning. "A braid it is then." Claire snickered, taking the hairbrush from the top of the vanity and began to brush out Marianna's already soft hair. Claire made sure Marianna took a shower earlier and properly washed her hair for tonight.
"Dad's making you some food, by the way." Claire said to her daughter, being careful with her hair. "What is he making me?" "No clue sweetheart, guess you'll see once you're all done." Marianna didn't respond, she silently agreed. Leon knows what she likes and what she doesn't, he'll do just fine.
Marianna has basically the exact same hair as Claire. Same color, type, length, everything. Claire was so happy she did, it looked perfect on her. Although, even with Leon's dirty blonde hair, she'd look cute. Either way, it works. Sam has his daddy's hair and his eyes, guess Leon really made sure to have Sam be his mini me. When Sam was born, Leon saw him and immediately just smiled, seeing how similar he was going to look to him. Then again, he did the same with Marianna and she's a momma's girl.
Once Marianna's hair was completely brushed, not a tangle in sight, Claire began to braid it. She didn't do anything crazy, just a regular braid. She would've loved to do a French braid but she fears she won't have enough time. After she does her hair, she has to get her into her dress and out the door with Leon. "I just remembered, when you're eating, do not get any food on your dress, okay?" "I know, I'm smart." Claire smiled at her words. Yeah, she really is a smart little girl.
"So honey, will any of your friend's be there? Cassandra? Maybe Lou?" Claire asked Marianna, striking up a conversation. "Lou will be, we talked about it at school, I don't know about Cass." "Well, at least Lou'll be there, I know you two are close." Claire said kindly, getting towards the end of Marianna's braid. It was all coming together wonderfully. Mari looked so cute, so pretty and she was going to rock the night with Leon.
At last years dance, they weren't able to have much fun since it rained and they were both super hungry, not realizing how long the dance actually is. That's why Claire double checked the forecast and will make sure they eat beforehand. Each year they look great though, that'll never change, despite Leon wearing the same exact suit each year. Besides, it's not like anyone cares what the dads are wearing, the little girls just wanna see the other girl's dresses.
Claire's hands worked in fast motions as she braided her hair and eventually, she finished it. She took the black hair tie off of her wrist and tied her hair, making sure the braid wouldn't be ruined. Claire also had a flower crown for Marianna to wear considering the theme of the dance is fairy garden. It's meant to be a very sparkly, girlie, earthy kind of theme, it's perfect for Marianna, she likes that kind of style. Claire stepped away from the vanity for just a moment to grab the crown off of her and Leon's bed.
In hand, Claire gazed at it. It had purple, white and turquoise flowers all along it, all of them were dazzled with a light amount of glitter. Marianna and Claire picked it out when they were at a party store together, it fit nicely. "This'll be the finishing touch." Claire giggled, setting it down. "Your hair and makeup is complete, let's get you dressed babe." Claire pointed at Mari's dress which was laid out neatly on the bed. The dress was going to be knee length. It was primarily purple but there are puffy colorful flowers striding down diagonally, center of the dress.
Such a cute dress!
"Put it on honey, then come downstairs to me and your dad, okay?" "Alright." Marianna stood up and began to proceed with the final touches of her attire. Claire had this glimmer in her eyes when watching her daughter. She was a lucky mom.
She walked out of the bedroom and zoomed down the stairs, hopping off of the last step. Leon was standing in the kitchen, finishing up whatever it was he was snacking on.
"Hi baby." "Hey babygirl." Leon responded, setting his food down. It appeared he was eating a sandwich and some chips, just your average lunch. "What did you make for Marianna?" "I just made her a sandwich but instead of chips, I gave her some berries." "Nice." Claire smirked, standing beside Leon. "You two all done, she's ready?" "Just about, right now she's just getting dressed." "Ok, do you think you'll be awake once we're home?" "Yeah baby, I'll stay awake." Claire said with a gentle tone, leaning her head on Leon's shoulder.
She was eyeing down his sandwich, craving a bite. After all she's been doing the past hour, a little snack sounded great. "Give me a bite...?" Claire giggled, pointing at his sandwich. With a chuckle, Leon brought his sandwich up to Claire's mouth, allowing her to take a quick snatch of it. Claire's muffled laugh was adorable. She is adorable. "Yum." She mumbled before planting a sweet kiss on his cheek.
Whilst they were sharing a romantic interaction, the stairs creaked as Marianna made her way down them.
She looked absolutely stunning! Oh Claire was so proud of herself and Mari for pulling this together.
Both Leon & Claire stood up. Claire squeaked, holding her own hands close to her chest. Her makeup, hair, outfit, the crown, all of it looked perfect. "Oh my sweet girl, Mari you're so cute." Claire squealed, ambling towards Marianna. Their daughter snorted, doing a quick spin. "Thank you mom." Marianna then looked up at Leon whom was leering at her. "You look precious honey." Leon leaned down to be at his daughter's level. "Thank you dad." Marianna replied, instantly hugging him.
On the sidelines, Claire stared at them. They clearly shared a love Claire always wanted the two of them to have. "Oh, hurry up! I wanna take pictures." Claire laughed, pulling her phone out. Leon hugged Marianna a little bit tighter before letting her go. "Let's listen to your mom." He snickered, taking Mari's hand and having the two of them stand in front of the stair case so Claire could snap some photos of them together.
The two of them stood side by side, looking their best. Claire could feel herself getting emotional, it is like that each year. She just really enjoys seeing the two of them bond and have a fun time, that'll be what goes on tonight. On her camera app, she quickly took a few photos. "You guys are so cute." Claire tittered, turning her phone horizontally to take photos that way now. "Hold hands and smile!" They listened. Although, Marianna doesn't very much like photos.
"Are you done yet mom? I just wanna go!" Marianna complained. Leon just laughed, seeing how similar Mari is to her mother. "Oh fine, yes, yes, get your food and get out of my house." Claire chortled, pointing at the dinner Leon packed up for Marianna. She dashed over to it, picking it up and holding it close. "Remember what I said, do not make a mess." "I won't, don't worry." "I'll make sure she doesn't." Leon hummed, stepping closer to Claire for a moment.
"Good. Give me a hug." Claire wrapped her arms around Marianna, taking her within an embrace. Marianna kissed Claire's cheek before saying, "I'll be out in the car Dad." "Ok baby." Leon said, glancing at her as she walked out of the front door and out to the driveway.
Claire turned to face Leon, a soft look plastered on her face. "I love you." "Love you sweetheart." Leon sighed softly, taking her smooth face in his hands and kissing her a few times, he was going to miss her. Leon's a tad bit clingy with Claire. "You two go and have an amazing time, okay? Take more pics for me." "You know we will and I will." Leon pulled her into him, giving her a real hug. Claire swathed her arms around his neck, breathing in his intoxicating scent. "I'll miss you." "I'll miss you too Claire."
After a minute or so, Leon let her go, he had too. "We'll be back soon." "Have fun handsome!" Claire waved goodbye before Leon ultimately shut the front door behind him.
Summary: Leon realizes he messed up. He and Claire got into an argument and he knows he has to make up for it. To do so, he gets her dinner and apologizes before they have a cozy night in

Time seems to be passing by awfully fast. Anytime Leon's eyes glance at his watch, it feels like it's been minutes, even hours, and yet, it's just been ten minutes. The atmosphere feels heavy. Leon feels awkward and upset, disappointed in himself too. He just wants this awful feeling to pass by so he can just feel himself again.
Claire might feel the same way. She's at the opposite end of the couch, arms crossed and her resting face appearing sad. He feels guilty. He wants to scooch down to her and hold her. He shouldn't have raised his voice that way, it was unnecessary and mean. She was just pushing and pushing him and it came out of no where. Leon despises arguments and shouting, so this is his worst nightmare.
The television playing in the background is the only noise to cancel out the silence. It was playing even during their argument. It's some stupid true crime show. Leon wishes he could shut it off and never hear it again. He glanced over at Claire, but she didn't even bother taking a peep at him. Anytime she becomes upset, she'll ignore him. And ignore him. And continue it until he gives in. Such a stubborn girl.
In this case, Leon gets it. He is definitely in the wrong. At least he can take accountability. Had Claire ended up with anyone else and they would've never realized their mistakes. Leon is glad he's able to.
Leon looked over at Claire once more and as he did, she stood up and sighed deeply before treading towards what Leon assumes is their bedroom. His assumption is proven correct when he heard the loud slam of their door. Was that really necessary? Absolutely not, but she's a mad girl. "Fuck sakes." Leon groaned under his breath as he rubbed the bridge of his pointy nose. He doesn't like this. He just wants to burst into their room and coddle her. But he has a better idea.
His eyes trailed towards his car keys. They're hung up near the entrance. One way to Claire's heart is food. Leon even recalls how earlier Claire was craving fast food since they never indulge in it. They have to maintain a decent diet considering what their jobs are. For this occasion however, Leon doesn't mind one bit making an exception. Her favorite spot is Wendy's, maybe he'll drive there and get her a meal and he can present it to her with kisses and hugs.
That should do the trick!
Standing up, Leon quietly jogged to the front door and threw his leather jacket on. He could hear the shower turn on from their shared bathroom, she'll be in there for a good bit he bets. He snagged his key off of their holder and stealthily opened the white front door and hushly closed it behind it. He'll be back in five minutes or less. They love directly out of town and the Wendy's spot is just a couple roads away. He knows exactly what to order for her.
They have separate cars. Leon has a 2016 black BMW whereas Claire has a 2014 white Audi. He loves his car. Eventually he'll upgrade but this bad boy has been his baby for awhile.
Leon clicked the unlock button on his keys. The faint beeping sound was heard and his headlights flashed. He opened the door and got in. He buckled in with haste and turned the car on ASAP. He's really lucky that this car isn't too loud. It's not that he doesn't want to be 'caught' but he wants this to be a surprise, it'll have more effect that way. He loves Claire, dearly, she deserves a treat after tonight.
Pulling out of the rugged driveway, Leon sighed softly as he hit the road. Just from where he was, he could see other cars bustling in and out of town. He lives near a cross road. One leads into town, one leads out of it and another leads into an entirely different city. He rarely goes to the other town, the one closer is much more convenient and big. Leon thinks he'll older a meal for himself too. He hopes this is what will win Claire over.
The traffic light turned red and Leon came to a smooth stop. He can't get her off of his mind. Claire is his girlfriend, hopefully soon to be fiance and now she's mad at him. Arguments are bound to happen but they don't much between them. This argument was pointless. It was over the fact Leon doesn't want to drop a mission he was asked to help on. Claire wants him to because he has to go across the country. In Leon's defense, she should've known things like this can happen with his job, he's an agent.
At the same time, Leon understands. If Claire had to go to Asia or Australia for example for a TerraSave mission, he'd go nuts. Not only because they'd be apart but because of her safety. Leon is a protective boyfriend. He needs her to be a smart girl and keep herself safe when he can't. Leon plans to go to Europe, specifically Greece. He prays the mission ends well. He's sure it will and he'll have positive thoughts just for Claire.
Turning right, the bright lights of all the opened buildings nearly blinded Leon. There were restaurants, stores, salons and more, all open and ready for people to stop by. Leon's focus though is Claire's food. He just needs her to eat and calm down. Food is the key to any lady's heart, right? He presumes so.
The city is so beautiful at night. The colorful lights shine brightly, the moon casting down upon them making the sight even prettier. The amount of people causes the town to remain alive and busy. Leon just feels like this is the right path for him. He's a city boy at heart and plans to keep it that way forever.
Just a few seconds away is the local Wendy's. Leon isn't used to this. He doesn't even know what to order exactly. They never order out like this. They go to restaurants a lot but fast food chains, that's a big no. Leon's willing to make an exception though. It's for his precious Claire.
The drive thru doesn't appear busy at all unlike the McDonald's across from the establishment. Leon can't even remember the last time he had McDonald's himself. There was just one other car in front of Leon. It was a Ford truck. If Leon had to take a shot in the dark, it's either an old man or a wannabe country boy. The thought makes him snicker. He'll have to look at the menu board(s) to figure out what to get. He doesn't know these meals by name or number.
Once the dirty truck in front of him pulled forward, so did he. The man over the intercom had a deep, groggy voice. "Hello, what can I get for you?" "Just one second, please, thanks." Leon responded, analyzing the countless burgers and fries among other things displayed on the lit up board. There was just about every food you could imagine a fast food spot to have. Leon recalls Claire liking the homestyle which is number 7. To Leon though, the most appealing is the number 2.
"Okay um, can I just get a number 7 and a number 2?" "Small, medium or large?" Leon hardly knew what he meant. Drink size? Doesn't matter. "Medium works." He replied, not really knowing what was going to come out medium. "Alright." The man over the loud speaker spoke. "Your total today is 16.30, pay at the next window." "Thank you." Leon said kindly before driving forwards. That ugly Ford is still in front of him, Leon has to wait a bit.
Leon is surprised Claire hasn't called or messaged him. She's either still in the shower or is laying down. He hopes she doesn't fall asleep. If she does, that'll be bad. Falling asleep after an argument can build resentment and the idea of Claire ever despising Leon makes him feel sick. She's the love of his life. That's the last fucking thing he needs. He can't lose the girl he loves most.
What uplifts his mood though is knowing that more than likely, Claire will forgive him tonight.
He pulled his BMW forward until he reached the first window where he handed the gentleman his card. The man swiped it and nodded. "There you go." "Thanks." Leon responded, stuffing his card back into his raggedy wallet. He's due for a new one, Claire has been hounding him about it.
"I'll just order you one off of Amazon!" "Don't waste your money babygirl." Is the exact words Leon recalls from a few days ago.
Reaching the final window, Leon took the two bags of greasy, tasty food and set them in the passenger seat. "Have a good rest of your evening." "You too." Leon spoke, pulling out of the parking lot. This better be a success.
He just wants to see her face light up. It's the most beautiful thing. Leon admires every aspect of Claire. He's noticed the little things about her that others don't. That includes how she plays with her hair when she's nervous, how she sticks her tongue out when she's focusing, how she kicks her little feet once she's under a warm blanket and how she laughs when someone makes a silly joke about a cute animal. She's a special girl.
Leon notices everything about her.
God, he loves her.
-
Finally, home!
Leon parked his car and bit his lip as he picked up both bags. All of the lights are still on as they were before he left so Claire is either still showering or is lying down. He can't wait to see her.
He pulled out his house key, sticking it into the lock and twisting it, entering their home. He doesn't hear the shower anymore. She probably just got out. Leon put his keys where they belong and swiftly removed his jacket, hanging it back up. The food actually smells yummy. He's never had a 'baconator' so he'll see how that tastes. God please let Claire forgive him after this.
Leon doesn't classify this as bribing, rather a 'I am sorry' proposal. He isn't doing this just so that she'll forgive him, it's just a side gift. Leon would give it to her even if she remained angry with him.
Walking up to their bedroom door, Leon opened it. The door creaked but he quickly entered the room and closed the door behind him. The TV was on and was playing the TV show 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S'-it is an insufferable show but Claire is addicted to it currently. Claire gandered up at Leon and noticed the food, which made her sit up in bed. "What are you doing?" "Asking for forgiveness from my lover." Leon sighed and sat down beside her, setting the food in front of her.
"You don't have to. Just consider this a part of my apology. I remember you saying you were craving this and-" Leon couldn't even finish his sentence before Claire pressed her lips to Leon. The man was speechless. Whilst melting by her touch, Leon slithered his hands around her slim waist, remembering how good it feels to touch her. She pestered him with kisses as she climbed into his lap and set her hands on his chest.
"It's okay." She cupped his face. "The argument was stupid, I'm over it." She hugged him, kissing his neck. Leon chuckled and rubbed her back, his strong arms wrapping around her skinny back. "Good, I'm glad." Leon laughed. Mission very successful!
Claire pulled away from the hug but remained in his lap. She grabbed both bags but first turned on her nightstands lamp so they could see. "When did you get Wendy's?" "Just now." "You left without saying a word?" "I wanted to surprise you." Leon's hands remained on her thighs. Claire giggled. She opened one bag and grabbed out a fry, eating it. "Mmm, just what I've been needing." She laughed, pulling her food out. "Is this the number seven?" "Yes."
Leon grabbed his bag and looked in it. He's not very hungry but it's best that he eats. "What did you get baby?" "The number 2. It's just a bacon cheeseburger with fries." "Had that plenty of times. You'll like it." Claire nodded, sipping the coke from the fountain pop. Leon smiled while watching her. He loves gawking at her. She is his beautiful lady. "I'm happy you're happy." "Thank you for the food Leon." "Anything for my babygirl." Leon squeezed her thighs and watched as she began to eat.
"Want to watch a movie and eat our food?" "Of course. What were you thinking?" "Well I won't torture you with my sitcoms anymore." Claire laughed, getting off of his lap and resting her head on his chest, setting her food up so she could still munch on it. "I'll let you pick." She set the remote down on his stomach. Leon picked it up and chortled. "Thanks darling." Leon began to scroll through Netflix.
He kissed the top of her head. "Finish all of your food baby." "I'll try." Claire giggled, kissing his cheek and taking a bite out of her burger.
If arguments always end up like this, Leon oughta cause them more often.

It's so lively!" Claire chuckled, looking around the entrance of the Zoo. "Tell me about it." Leon scoffed. He most definitely doesn't prefer being in crowds of people. Claire grabbed ahold of his strong arm, pecking it quickly, "Oh don't be such a grump, it'll be fun." She leaned up and kissed his cheek. He couldn't help but feel his face flush, she really knew what buttons to push.
"You're a princess." Leon teased her, kissing her head. He was out of his comfort zone today. Not only socially, but style too. He's wearing a polo shirt with some jean shorts, that's not his usual attire. Claire is wearing a cute red & white striped top with jean shorts as well, Leon can't help but admire how beautiful she looks. Anytime though, she looks absolutely gorgeous. Leon is constantly finding himself obsessing over her and how she looks.
Walking up to the stand, Leon pulled out his wallet. "Paying to see depressed animals, great." He sighed, handing the money to the worker. The worker rolled her eyes a bit, clearly not liking Leon's snarky remark. Claire slapped his shoulder, letting go of his arm, "Seriously? Be anymore of an ass?" Claire groaned, folding her arms. "Sorry babygirl, I don't think Zoo's are all that." "You aren't even excited to see the wolves?" "Maybe." He smirked, reaching his hand out for her. Claire gave in, of course, sliding her hand against his and holding it.
"Want me to go ahead and grab us a pamphlet?" Claire asked Leon, pointing to the stack of them by some of the souvenir shops. Leon nodded, letting go of her hand slowly before watching her skip off to them. He sighed softly, he wasn't in the best mood. Leon would do anything to appease his wife, hence why he's here, but lately, life has been so rough on him. He especially has a difficult time opening up to Claire but he's trying. Truly, all he wants is to see her smile and be happy, therefore he'll endure his own personal issues.
From where he was standing, he could see a few different enclosures. One has owl's and the other had sloth's, they looked cute. Leon felt bad for them though. Imagine being trapped in a large cage that you'll never be able to leave from. Knowing it's for the greater good though, he tries not to sweat it to much. But if he was an animal, he'd personally despise the situation so much.
Claire ambled back over to Leon, a folded pamphlet in her skinny hand. "Alrighty handsome." She murmured, opening up the complicated folded piece of paper. Leon couldn't help but admire her efforts. "You got it hun?" He said with a teasing tone. Claire scoffed, "I do." She undid the entire thing, shaking it a couple times to straighten it out neatly. "From where we are, the closest would be the llama's and the turtles." Claire said softly, scanning the pamphlet.
"Let's go then." Leon sighed softly, walking alongside Claire as they made their way to the llama's. Llama's are cute, but Leon doesn't want to be spat on. "What's the difference between Llama's and Alpaca's?" "Honey, don't be dense." Claire stated, squeezing his hand playfully as they made their way up to the wooden fenced area. There were only six Llama's, but they were so cute. Claire admired them briefly. "So adorable." Claire giggled, pointing at the cutest one. It was white with a brown spot near the top of it's head. "Just like you." Leon chuckled, gazing down at her.
"Hey, that one looks like you." Leon pointed at the derpy one, causing Claire to scoff. "That was is cute too, so hah." She pinched his arm roughly. They definitely had a way with words together. Claire pulled out her phone and snapped a couple photos of the Llama's, making sure to get each one in each picture. "You plan on developing those?" "Maybe... Depends..." Claire quietly spoke, taking a couple more photos. "Depends on what?" "Well, if they look nice or not or if I end up finding a reason to even print them out." She explained, Leon just nodded in reply.
"Let's go to the Turtle's, shall we?" Claire talked softly, turning the both of them around and immediately spotting where the turtle's were. From where they were strolling, Leon could see the sign that explains what kind of animal they are and some information about them. They were tortoises, not turtle's. Totally different. "Babygirl...?" Leon chuckled out, taking her hand and placing it on the plaque. Claire gandered down and read it before rolling her eyes. "Same thing." "Clearly not." Leon cackled.
"They're so slow." Claire snickered, her head in her hands as she leaned against the railing. "I would hate to be a tortoise." Leon rubbed Claire's back as they looked at the animals. "At the same time, they're cute! Tortoises are old men if they were animals." Claire stated. Leon couldn't help but snicker at her statement, "Is that so?" He chuckled, watching as she moved away and pulled her phone out again. She snapped only one photo this time. "My love?" Leon asked. "Yes babe?" Claire replied. "I love you." He whispered, looking at her intently.
Claire put her phone away, giving him a gentle look before cupping his cheeks in her petite hands, "I love you baby." She whispered, kissing his cheeks all over before letting go of his handsome face. Leon felt his cheeks go pink, why did she have to do that in front of so many people? "Hate when you do that..." Leon grumbled but Claire simply snorted.
"Just over there are the owl's and sloth's, wanna go look?" Claire questioned her husband, wrapping her arm around his. "Yes baby." Leon responded, striding beside her. "Knock knock." "Whose there?" "Who." "Who who?" "Are you an owl?" Claire asked him, biting her lip as she giggled. It took Leon a moment to understand the joke but, he got. "Oh ha ha." Leon chuckled, "You're so cute." "Cute stuff." Claire repeated.
Along the branches, there were many owls. They really seemed to like the dark, they stuck to the shaded areas only. It reminded Claire of Leon, if he was an animal, he'd either be an owl or a wolf. "They look so... Elegant? I guess I don't know how to explain it." Claire said calmly. "No, I get what you're saying sweetheart, they're very magnificent creatures." Leon agreed, his hand resting on her back. Claire was glad he understood, he always does.
She snapped a couple photos, scrolling through them to make sure they were of good quality. "They look great." Leon praised her photography skills. "Thanks... I'd love to buy a camera soon." Claire said softly, her head resting against his bulk shoulder. "I'll buy you one soon." Leon assured her. "Really?" Claire gave him a loving smile, looking up at him. "Anything to appease you babygirl." Leon whispered, pecking the point of her nose. "I'd love that, thank you." Claire murmured.
Claire looked behind her, seeing the adorable sloths hanging from their branches, some of them even sleeping. Now if Claire was an animal, she'd most definitely want to be a sloth, she'd be able to be lazy in the warm sun all day long. It'd be great. "Look how cute!" Claire smiled, pointing at one specific sloth. The sloth was hanging by it's arms and legs, not showing a care in the world. Leon let out a soft chuckle, watching Claire be mesmerized by a silly animal.
"I was a koala for Halloween back in College." Claire giggled, "I know it's not relevant considering this is a sloth but they're sort of similar." She explained. "A sexy koala?" "Yes... My friends were a Grizzly Bear and a Polar Bear." Claire sighed softly, not enjoying the thought of her College years. "Wish I would've known you then." Leon smirked. "Yeah, no you don't." Claire patted his arm as they began to walk further along the pathway of the Zoo.
"Oh baby, the wolves are just up here!" She exclaimed, sliding the pamphlet back into her pocket. Leon nodded, seeing a few of them walking around the enclosure. It was an all black one with vivid gray spots all over it's neck area. It was gorgeous. Very magnificent. "That one is pretty." Leon pointed at it. "I know, right? Gosh, I wish dogs looked like that." "Well, some do, but they are hard to find, I presume." "Sadly." Claire mumbled, taking a photo of the beautiful wolf, it looked so stoic. "If you print the images out, give me that one." Leon said with a husk tone. "Of course." Claire responded.
"Let's steal one." Claire joked, tugging on the bottom of his shirt. "Ok baby, you distract them and I'll grab it." Leon teased, squeezing her slim hip. "We should get a dog though, sooner or later." "I agree honey, it just takes a lot of responsibility and with our jobs, I don't know if it'll work out." Leon whispered to her, caressing her side. Claire nodded sadly, her spirits going low. "A cat would be easier, y'know... They'd be able to go pee and poop inside, we could fill their food and water up extremely, ect." Leon added. Claire gave a slight smile but she was much more of a dog person.
"I guess you're right." Claire heaved softly, looking around the area to see other animals. From where she was, she seen Lions, it immediately made her light up. "Oh, baby, look!" Claire snatched his hand up and was in complete awe by the lion's. Leon chuckled, seeing one of the male lion's rested up on top of a large rock.
The two of them headed up towards the enclosure. There were four different lion's on the inside, two female and two male. Each one of them were stunning. Lion's are the representation of the Leo sign, which is Claire's astrology sign, she feels a personal connection with these animal's. "So pretty." Claire admired all of them. "Once again, just like you." Leon flirted with his wife, his veiny hand ruffling her hair. Claire slightly blushed, biting her lower lip at his sweet words.
"Can't wait til we go home, I wanna take a shower with you." Leon whispered to her, moving his hand away from her soft hair. Claire snorted and leaned up, placing both of her hands on his chest, "Oh really now?" Claire giggled, her smile turning into a grin. "Mhm, how could I not? You look gorgeous today." Leon whispered once again, kissing the top of her head. "If you'd like, we can take a break from the animals and order some food, they have some shops." "Anything you want babygirl, I just want you pleased." Leon mumbled to her, both of his hands on her lower back.
Oddly enough, despite Leon not really wanting to go on this trip, he still did and it wasn't even for himself yet he's beginning to feel better. Seeing Claire all happy and okay cures his personal sadness. He's just been dealing with some shit at work, the only times he's truly ever happy is if he's with Claire, like right now. She's the light of his life. There is no other for him. Their love is truly irrevocable. He just wishes that life without her could also be just as easy as when he's with her. Depending on someone for something as simple as happiness isn't Leon's style.
Leon would open up to Claire more, talk to her about how he feels but he just has such a difficult time doing so. It's not just with her, it's with everybody. He's thought about therapy but he also views it as a waste of money when he can just talk about it with someone for free or bottle it up. It's the little moments like these that help him forget and help him realize how good his life truly is, despite all the bullshit that goes down.
"I'm feeling just some classic American food, like a sloppy cheeseburger or a good hotdog." Claire snickered, holding Leon's hand as they made their way back to the entrance area of the Zoo. "You're easy to please, my love. I remember when you told me your favorite food was a cheeseburger, can't lie, I was surprised." Leon chuckled. "Oh, how come?" "Because I've just never met somebody with common taste." "I see, well, you just can't go wrong with one. But hey, my pallette is quite exotic!" "Oh, I know." Leon replied.
As they re-entered the main area, they spotted the food stands. The one that caught Claire's eye had an icon of a burger on it, immediately causing her mouth to water. "Oh yeah, let's go." Claire laughed, the both of them scurrying over to the food stand. On the side of it, there was a menu. There was all sorts of food, Claire was in heaven. "What are you going to get honey?" He asked as he pulled out his black leather wallet. "The cheeseburger and fries, you?" "Chicken tenders with mac and cheese." He responded, pulling out 35$.
The worker of the stand had a elderly manly smile as he noticed the money Leon had grabbed out, business must be slow. "Just the cheeseburger with fries combo and the chicken tenders with mac and cheese combo." Leon spoke with a friendly tone. The man nodded, placing the cash in the register. Leon and Claire took a seat down at the picnic table, adjusting themselves til they were comfortable.
"After we eat, I just wanna check out a few more enclosures, okay? I really wanna see some bears and tigers." "Sounds good with me babe." Leon stated, interlocking his hands together. The sun was beaming down on both of them, their bodies heating up. They also didn't bring sun screen nor put it on before coming here, yeah, they'd have one helluva time with being sunburnt.
"It's so hot out." Claire whined, resting her head on the table. Leon reached one of his hands out and stroked her hair to the side. "I know babygirl, but at least the breeze feels nice." He comforted her, loving the feeling of her soft and brushed hair. "We should buy a pool." Claire snickered, waiting for Leon's response. "Yeah we do, maybe I'll buy us one soon." Leon assured her, "You're just so needy, huh baby?" He whispered. "Mhm." Claire mumbled out. She was definitely a needy one, but she was easy to please.
Claire relished in the feeling of Leon playing with her hair. It awakened such a comforting feeling in her. She felt safe with him, especially whenever he was touching her in any capacity. Whether it be his hands on her back, her face or her waist, she feels good. She's grateful he's not one of those men who is afraid to be touchy with her, because if he was, she doesn't know if she'd still be with him. But he willingly shows off his obsession with her. Claire is beyond in love with Leon and it shows.
"Mmm, I love you." Claire groaned out. "Love you honey." Leon replied, moving his hand away from her hair as their food was ready. The worker waved them. "One second." Leon grunted as he stood up. He walked over to the stand, taking both of the styrofoam containers in hand. Both smelt great which was awfully surprising considering it's from a food stand. He turnt around to Claire, setting her food in front of her, an enlightened look appearing on her face. She was definitely going to devour that cheeseburger.
Claire popped the top off of the container, the smell of her food infusing into her nostrils. Oh, it smelt great. She immediately grabbed a frie, taking a bite of it and moaning. Leon couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. "Gotta feed my baby before she gets hangry." He teased, sitting across from her. "I have always been a foodie." She responded, taking the top bun off of her burger and placing some fries in it. "You're the first person I've ever seen do that." "Really? It's such a common thing to do."
She took a giant bite from the burger, reveling in the classic taste of it. It made her mouth water and her stomach full, she was so happy to finally get some food into her system. As for Leon, he just ate normally, taking casual bites of his tenders and swifts noms of his mac & cheese, pretty good. "This cheeseburger is so good, better than the ones we had at that restaurant last week!" Claire expressed, taking a mini bite now. "Better be, I paid 15$ for it." He joked, stealing one of her fries.
"Hey, now you gotta give me a bite of your mac and cheese!" Claire put on a playful stern face. Leon snickered, dipping his fork into the creamy noodles and scooping some up for her. Claire quickly snatched a bite, making a high pitched humming noise in reply, "Yum." She mumbled, eating some more of her french fries.
They sat in silence, keeping to themselves as they ate. Claire was... Well... Clearly, enjoying her food. Her cheeseburger was already practically gone, she must've really been hungry. Leon plans on not eating it all and instead bringing it home for later, he's not all to hungry. He can't tell if it's cause he's truly just not ready to eat or if it's his mind not wanting him to. At this point, he often has to force himself to eat, it's rough. Whenever Claire cooks dinner, of course he eats it but most of the time, he's full, or feels full. But for her, he'll do literally anything.
"Damn baby, you can really eat." Leon laughed, admiring her persistence. "Yeah! I was starving hun." Claire giggled, gobbling up her french fries. "You're so adorable." Leon added, taking a couple more bites of his mac and cheese before containing it back up to save for home. "Are you not hungry baby?" Claire had a worrisome tone. "Nah, I'll eat later babygirl but don't rush, continue to eat and if you're still hungry, you can have my food." "Psh, don't worry, I'm already getting full, just let me eat a few more fries." She stated with a glimmer.
As she ate, Claire pulled out her phone, going onto the camera app. "Baby, smile." Claire beamed at the camera, snapping a photo of her & Leon together. Although, he didn't smile, he gave a half assed grin. "Can you ever look like you're happy with me?" Claire scoffed with a chuckle, turning her phone off after viewing the picture. "I'm always happy with you babygirl." Leon whispered, taking another one of her fries and eating it. "I hope so." Claire replied.
Leon put a soft look on his face, concerned with her response. Leon stretched his hand out and took her hand in his, caressing it gently with his thumb. "Baby, you don't actually question my happiness with you, do you?" Leon questioned her, squeezing her hand softly, wanting to hear her answer. "No, I don't, I just really want you to be happy, always." Claire responded, leaning her head down and pressing a loving kiss to his big hand, nuzzling her head against it.
He nodded, stroking her hair a few times before pulling his hand away and standing up. "You all done?" "Yes, here." Claire answered, giving her container to Leon so he could throw it away. Leon took it, turning around swiftly and dropping it into the garbage can. He'd have to carry his styrofoam box around until they leave but he doesn't really mind, they won't be here much longer anyways. Claire also got up, yawning moderately as she took Leon's hand in hers, causing him to feel a warm, happy feeling.
"Let's head to those bears, shall we?" Claire smiled, skipping along the pavement. From where they were, the bears were about a two minute walk away according to the map. "Let's go then." Leon responded. "Do you know what kind of bears there is?" "I'm pretty sure brown bears, that's what it said on the website at least." "Oh, okay, at least it's not polar bears." Leon joked. "They're very devious. Y'know, dolphins are also menaces, they're super evil, sometimes even towards humans." Claire spoke.
Leon knew that but for Claire's sake, he acted like he didn't, "You just know everything, huh?" Leon teased her. Claire tittered at his words.
At the exhibit, Claire was so excited to see the bears. While she was terrified of them, they were just big cuddly babies and if they weren't aggressive, she'd totally have one as a pet. "Oh baby, they're so adorable." Claire voiced, smiling through the thick glass and waving to the bears. They seemed totally uninterested. "They're probably exhausted, all they do is show off to people." "Poor little guy's, alongside the wolves, we've gotta take these guy's too." Claire chortled, lightly tapping her fingers on the glass but not enough for the bears to hear.
"Want me to take the photos this time?" "Sure babe, just my back right pocket." Claire said softly, poking her rear out for him. Leon couldn't help but bite his lip, man he was lucky. "Cute." He scoffed playfully, logging into her phone and opening the camera application. He knew Claire was picky so he'd have to run the photos by her first. "Alright baby, want a photo of each one or...?" "Yeah, each one and one of all of them please."
Obliging, Leon began to click the button, taking a photo of each bear. They were so lazy looking, very peaceful, not a care in the world. "Heh, that one is asleep." Leon chuckled, Claire as well. "Baby, if we were animals, what would we be?" Claire questioned her husband. "Definitely either fish or deer, why?" "Curious on your thoughts. I think we'd be birds and fly free together." Claire whispered, resting her head on his shoulder as he took the final pic, they turned out nicely.
"Onwards and upwards baby." Leon took her hand in his. "Did you take a look at where the tiger enclosure is?" "Just up ahead, then after that we can get going, yeah?" Claire smiled, the sun making their skin feel more heated than ever. Claire was dying to feel the car's AC on her body. "This heat is killing me." She whined again. "We can go to the car now if you want honey." "No... I wanna see the tigers." Claire stated sternly, making sure she already has her phone out. She was set in her ways, as always.
Stepping up the stairs that were made out of concrete, the largest enclosure of them all sat right before them. There were multiple tigers in it, most of them relaxing but there was one baby tiger roaming around. "Holy shit baby, they have a baby!" Claire said in awe, crouching down and smiling at it. The tiger ran up to the glass and pawed at it, it's eyes shiny and pretty. "Sweetie, take a photo." Claire murmured, handing her phone to Leon. He knew this meant so much to her. He took a couple quick images of Claire and the tiny tiger.
"I did it honey." Leon whispered back, sliding her phone into her pocket. Claire giggled as the mama tiger came over, as if to protect it's baby. "Don't worry mama." Claire said softly, her tone soothing. The two tigers just stood there, looking at Claire. They didn't seem aggressive or anything, rather curious. Claire gave them one last smile before slowly standing up, not wanting to make any sudden movements. "You're like mother nature." Leon joked, wrapping his arm around her as she stepped back.
Making eye contact a little longer, Claire took one last photo of the two tigers, in absolute shock by their actions. "They were so precious." Claire giggled, watching as they walked off further into the enclosure. "They seemed to enjoy your company." Leon smiled, kissing her cheek, "Just like I do." He was such a flirt. Claire snorted, taking his hand in hers, "C'mon you dork, let's get to the car, we can stop and look at some more on our way out." She giggled, their hands interlocked.

Just outside of the apartment window, wet rain droplets poured upon it, covering it in water. Occasionally, the sound of thunder could be heard, causing Claire's cat to scurry around the apartment and hide underneath either her bed or table. It didn't bother Claire though, if anything, it was peaceful. She just enjoyed it whilst she read on her bed. She was currently reading that new 'Twilight' series everyone has been boasting about.
Aside from the rain, it was dark out already. It was 9:00 so no wonder. The moon was out and glimmering up the sky. It's glint was bright. It wasn't noticeable from her apartment but if Claire looked out her window, through the coated water on it, she'd definitely be able to spot it.
Overall, it was an angelic night. Serene. Calming. Abstract. It was nice. It was the perfect night to just chillax and that's exactly what Claire was doing. Her bed was in the middle of the living room, the bedroom was used for a mini office / library. She doesn't mind sleeping in the living room anyways, she's closer to her cat, Miracle, that way.
Laying back on her bed, she continued to read, so far she was pleased with it. Through Kindle, she read a few reviews and they were all positive so she gave the book a shot and she's glad that she did. Usually, she only reads horror or psychological books, a romance isn't often in the question but she's been feeling romantical lately, especially considering she just got a boyfriend, Leon.
She's known Leon for quite some time now, since July - It's October. They met through her big brother who works for the same Police Department. The second she seen Leon, she found him to be handsome. A little crush did in fact develop but she kept it to herself until a little earlier this month, Leon asked her out. Their date went very well and Claire was head over heels for him, more than she could fathom. He felt the same way. He asked her to be his girlfriend on Monday - It's been a week.
She's been like a fan girl with him, thinking about him all throughout her day, messaging and calling him. He's been reciprocating it too which makes her fall even more for him. Her brother says it's just puppy love but it really doesn't feel like that. Then again, it has only been a week. An attachment to Leon has definitely formed, there's no doubting that. Leon ever said to her that he finds her to be the most beautiful girl he's ever seen - That made her squeal like a school girl.
Admittedly, the same goes for him. He's very cute in Claire's eyes. Of course, all of her friends tease her and claim, "He has a baby face." But Claire doesn't care, he's handsome to her and that is all that matters. Besides, all of her friends either go for the asshole jocks or the stoners, at least Claire has an officer as a boyfriend! She's upgraded above all else.
It was like she summoned him because right as she put her book down, thinking of him, the sound of her phone buzzing was heard, causing her to immediately hop up off of her bed and grab it, seeing who it was from. It was indeed Leon. His message read, "Hey, just got home from work. You up?" Claire couldn't help but jump a few times whilst biting her lip. She's waited all damn day to hear from him. His job consumes up so much of his time, it's annoying but she understands.
Claire immediately began to type, her fingers moving at a rapid pace as she did. "Yes, I am up. How was work?" She messaged back, anxious waiting for a reply. She held onto her phone as she sat back down onto her bed. Her cat, Miracle was sitting hiding underneath it in fear of the storm so Claire was careful getting on it, not wanting to freak her pet out further. Her phone buzzed again as Leon messaged back, he must've been waiting for a reply too.
"It was fine. I missed you though." Leon's message was so sweet. Claire let out an audible "Awe". She felt so loved by him, even if their relationship wasn't that far yet. She definitely has some sort of love for him, even if it hasn't blossomed much yet. She can't expect it to. It's been literally a week. Claire just moves way to fast for her own good, no wonder she would lose boyfriends so easier. She'll take her time with Leon considering she really likes him.
"Awe, I missed you. What are you up to?" Claire sent to him, scooching herself higher onto her bed, resting her head against her fluffy pillows. Right as she was about to close the messaging app, Leon responded with not only a text, but an image too. The image was of him in bed, literally in the same position as Claire. It's like they're connected or something. "Laying down and watching TV. You?"
Claire decided to also take a picture of herself, but she wanted to look irresistible for him. She wanted him to say something about her appearance, he does, but he hasn't over message, that way she can savour the text forever.
Still laying down, her hair was in a ponytail and it was quite messy, but that was a good thing. She adjusted her brunette hair to be in frame of the camera, making it look 'messily cute', a lot of guy's find that attractive ; At least guy's she's been with. She had a necklace on with a feather on it. Her brother bought it for her on Christmas of last year and she's worn it ever since. That paired with her red tank top with lace flowery trimming on it. She thinks it's good enough.
Snapping the pic, Claire posed at an angle where her neck was flashing and her face was tilted slightly. It was like a trap for men. She knew all the tricks. Although, she's forgetting that her relationship with Leon is meant to be taken more seriously. She does genuinely feel for him, like never before. He's super sweet and understanding, no other guy has been like that towards Claire. It's made her like him immensely and vice versa.
Claire sent the photo along with a message saying, "Cute. I am also laying in bed, I was reading though." Then she waited. She was nervous to say what he'd say. Not only nervous but also in high spirits. She knew he'd say something. She was confident. She turned her phone off and set it beside her pillow before she got up off of the bed. She was concerned about Miracle, wanting her to feel safe.
"Miracle baby, come to mama." Claire cooed out beside the end of the bed. Whenever Miracle was scared, this is exactly what she'd do. She was quite skittish.
Claire has owned Miracle for about a year now. She was a stray that would roam outside her apartment and from time to time, she'd feed her. At first, she called her "Mimi" but when Claire was at a very dark point in her life, Miracle started to show up more and eventually trusted Claire enough to take her in. Miracle was Claire's miracle. A light at the end of her tunnel. And now she has to miracles, her and Leon.
"C'mon now honey, it's ok..." Claire said delicately, being very gentle with her. Miracle was sleuth too, always wanting to be hiding. It wasn't easy to get her out of her little enclosed spaces. "Tsk, tsk tsk, here kitty, kitty, kitty." Claire purred out, being lovey to the cat. Within seconds of Claire saying that, her head popped out. Miracle pulled herself out from under the bed. She was a fluffy white cat, not tot big nor too small, but Claire had to fatten her up due to her being super underweight.
"Hey sugar." Claire whispered, petting the top of her head. Miracle pushed her head into Claire's hand, wanting more physical affection - She was an attention seeker. "It's okay Miracle." Her reassuring words calmed Miracle down, making her more resilient to listen. "Come with me." Claire lifted the cat into her arms, rubbing her belly for a couple seconds before setting her down on the bed. Miracle set herself into a loaf position. "What do all cats do that?" Claire giggled to herself, walking over to the fridge and pulling out one of Miracles treats.
She was a good kitty for being brave enough to come out to Claire.
Pulling the ceramic paper off of the white plastic bowl, Claire put it on the bed in front of Miracle. "Eat up hun." Claire scratched her head, leaning down and leaving a kiss on her. She adores Miracle a lot.
As she went to go to the bathroom, wondering if Leon would ever even reply, she could tell her phone buzzed considering Miracle got distracted by it. "Oh now you just eat, ignore that." Claire tittered, sitting down on the edge of the bed and typing her password in. Leon's message nearly made Claire pass out. He even hearted the image of her. "You're very pretty. How did I manage to get this lucky?" Claire instantly wanted to message him back.
"You say that as if you aren't handsome. More like, how did I get lucky?" Claire teased her boyfriend through text. Their banter was often like this. Claire thinks their shared sense of humor has broughten them closer together. Now she could go to the bathroom and hopefully come out to a message from Leon.
-
Ambling out of the bathroom, Claire noticed she had two notifications from Leon. "You're adorable..." Was his first message. "But I think I am going to go to sleep here in a few minutes, probably after this episode but tomorrow we can call since I have the day off, yeah?" Was his second. He definitely needed his rest, he was most likely spent after working at the R.P.D all day, Claire couldn't blame him at all.
"Understandable. You need to sleep. We can totally call tomorrow! See you then, Leon." Was Claire's reply. "Great. Goodnight Claire." Leon sent his final message of the night, it was a good way to end it off. Claire blushed at his message, feeling a passionate warmth fill her up inside. Anytime Leon referred to her by her name, she couldn't help but giggle at it too. "Goodnight Leon <3." And sent.
The rest of the night, up until Claire ultimately fell asleep while reading, Leon was on her mind. He made her feel more than happy. She was merry when speaking to him. She was joyous when thinking about him. She was jubilant when around him. Everything about this man draws her in. He reels her in like a fish, and she can't help but fall for him. He's a gorgeous man and aside from that, a perfect one too.
Claire slept great that night, cuddled up beside Miracle. The rain eventually got lighter as it let up, it was the perfect white noise for a good night's sleep.

Leon woke up around 8:00 AM and it was now 8:20, he gave himself a while to really wake up. He was exhausted last night. All the retraining he's been going through has been overexerting him heavily. His eyes were still heavy too as he drank his hot coffee, hoping it'll wake him up somewhat. He also had the newspaper in front of him, scanning it over a few times just to occupy himself. It was all boring political stuff he couldn't care less about.
He awaited a message from Claire all morning, he didn't wanna message her and seem all clingy but he really has been contemplating it. Although, messaging Claire is what makes him chipper. It's what distracts him. Anytime they get to message is a lovely one. And seeing her last night, woo, it had Leon all over the place. He kept scrolling back up to the image, just gazing at her pretty self. Once again, he ponders on how he was able to get so lucky.
Last night's storm was a wreck. Just through Leon's large window, he could see some trees were damaged. Over near his apartment, it was bad. Claire lives about 30 minutes away near her campus so he's unaware on how bad it is. He just hopes she and her kitty are alright ; He is however aware that Miracle is scared of tedious things like storms.
He recalls a story Claire told him on how when she first took Miracle in, she was terrified of the refrigerator. Claire would just open the fridge and she'd began to freak herself out. Claire was actually concerned when it began to happen, she felt like she couldn't even eat at that point. It made Leon laugh his ass off first hearing of it. A cat having a fear of refrigerators was something totally new to him. But now, Miracle is content with them. Enemies to Friends then.
Leon's only been to Claire's place once and that's when he got to meet Miracle. She's a sweetheart.
Finishing off the last few drops of his coffee, Leon sighed and placed the cup on his round kitchen table that was polished wood. Leon liked how cozy his apartment was. He only recently moved in too, considering he's only been apart of the R.P.D for a couple months now. Leon just felt blessed to have a roof over his head and a place to call home. With house prices nowadays, he was worried he wouldn't be able to get one. But this apartment came in handy.
Every few seconds, Leon's eyes would dart from the newspaper to his phone, hoping there'd be a message from Claire but there never was. It was foolish of him, the way he was thinking. He just really didn't wanna seem like he was all about Claire - Worried that she'd leave him if he was. Then again, what if she felt the exact same way? Many thoughts roamed through Leon's head, not quite knowing what to follow.
Fuck it.
Leon picked his compact phone up, swiping it open and clicking on the iMessage app, quickly opening Claire's contact up. He has it under 'Claire' right now but has wanted to change it to something more cute, though he doesn't want anyone to see. Yes, they're dating, but only newly. It's still a very fresh relationship. He wants to take it slow, he thinks she does too. Rushing into things never ends well and Leon wants this to never end. Forever, maybe?
"Good morning. Just wanted to see how your morning was going." Leon said to her through message, praying she'll reply sooner more than later. With each passing day, they've gotten more comfortable with one another. Everyday, they message more than the last and it's got to the point where they call. Is that going to fast? Leon doesn't think so. It's good to feel safe with your partner, that's what you want, right? He's content with this pace.
He knows she doesn't have any classes today, she never does, especially since she'll be graduating here soon. She could just be sleeping in, which would be okay, he's willing to wait. He simply yearns for her. To speak with her. Claire has consumed Leon's thoughts. He hopes he's done the same to her. Claire seems all about him, but he doesn't know if it's just a front. Chris kind of hinted that she's dated around many times and he doesn't wanna be some boy toy for her but if she claims she's matured, he'll put his trust in her.
Slipping his phone in his pocket, Leon grabbed his mug and placed it in the sink - He'd do the dishes later. For now, until Claire answers, he just wants to either watch TV or work out.
-
Around 10:30 AM, Leon was using his punching bag. His fists continuously pounding into the weighted cylinder, his arms gaining muscle the longer he did it. It was a distraction from the fact Claire still hadn't answered him. Well, until now.
Ding!
Leons head shot around when he heard his phone go off. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and took off his fingerless gloves, tossing them aside. His hands felt semi numb after the intense workout he had just endured but he has to do it to stay in shape. It also makes him feel good, energized. It keeps him going. The notification was infact from Claire. His dearest had messaged him. He pulled his fist down with haste, clearly happy to finally hear from her.
The message read, "Hi, good morning. So sorry I didn't respond sooner, I have been studying all morning without my phone. My morning has been okay, how about yours?" Leon felt a relieved sigh overcome him. He's glad she wasn't ignoring him or something, only she was studying. She was a keen girl, she knew a lot. In College, she was studying English Lit in hopes of becoming an English teacher at a middle school. He knows that she can do it. He has faith in her.
He began to type a message out to her, contemplating on what to say.
"Hey, no worries. Studying matters more. My morning has been okay as well, mainly consisted of working out but hey, that's what a police man has to do, right?" His message was implied to be taken as a joke. He likes to play around with her. They're often goofy together anyways.
Only seconds later, Leon received a new message from her. "Guess so. Glad your morning was okay though. Any plans for the day?" Her message was short and sweet, Leon couldn't help but leer at it. She has him yearning for her, even over the most basic words. "Not really but if you're still able to call later today, I am totally up for that." Leon shot the message, feeling quite flustered sending it. He doesn't get why considering he asked her last night. He gets so jittery over the stupidest of things.
"I can totally still call later, I'd love to. Just give me a time and I'll be ready!" Her message caused what felt like his stomach doing backflips. She was too cute. The way she texted was adorable to Leon. He felt like a bore with the way he messaged but Claire hasn't said whether he's good or bad at it. "I would say around 2:00 PM works for me, gotta go grocery shopping soon so once I am done with that, we can call." "Sounds great, can't wait to hear your voice."
She can't wait to hear his voice? Leon felt his heart thump in his chest. He felt like The Mask in that one scene where his eyes pop out of his skull and his tongue springs out of his mouth. She has such a way with words.
But it's true, Leon definitely had to run some errands today, despite really not wanting to. His fridge is basically empty and not only that, he's out of a few necessities for his apartment so there's that too.
"Well, I can't wait to hear yours either. Talk to you soon." Leon then pocketed his phone. He'd rather get this stuff done sooner than later. He'd practically be out all day so the sooner, the better.
-
Opening his front door, Leon had multiple bags in his hands and on his arms, wanting to only make one trip. The walk from his apartment to the parking garage was way to long for his liking. He dropped off all the bags in his kitchen, letting out an expire of relief, the weight finally off of his arms. Not only did he grocery shop, he also bought some stuff for work and just for himself. He deserved it.
He even looked at stuff for Claire but didn't end up finding anything he thought she'd like.
Taking off his leather jacket, he hung it up on the back of one of the kitchen chairs and snagged his phone out of it. He had no recent messages from Claire, she must've just not known what to say. But now it was around 2 PM so they could call and Leon couldn't wait. He felt glorious for getting the time crunch correct. He just wants to make sure she is still free to call now.
"Hi. Officially home. Able to call still?" He kept it simple, not wanting to seem overbearing. He already felt like a burden as it was.
Now he waits.
-
2:20 PM, Leon heard his phone go off as he loaded food into the fridge, making it finally look full again. He speeded up the process, wanting to see if it was Claire or not ASAP. He set the last food in, Chicken Wraps, before closing the door of the refrigerator, sighing softly. He picked up his phone and smirked, enjoying what she had to say. "Able to call anytime you want. Anything for you." Leon found that to be enticing and rather sweet.
Without further ado, Leon pressed the green phone icon, ringing Claire up. Only after four rings, Claire answered the phone, a soft sigh on her end being made out. Leon was so delighted that he'd finally be able to hear her lovely voice again.
"Hey Claire." He voiced softly, sitting down in the chair. "Leon, hi, so great to hear from you." She responded, her voice low. Maybe Miracle was asleep beside her or something. "How has your day been so far?" "It's been okay, studied for a while and I just finished lunch." "Oh, what did you make?" "Frozen dumplings." Claire snorted, being blunt. It wasn't like she was made of money and could purchase better foods. She's a College student after all.
"We've all been there but I think all that really matters is that you ate." Leon cooed out, his voice seemingly gleeful. "How's your day been though? Was the shopping any fun?" "It was okay, just glad I stopped procrastinating." Leon chuckled over the phone, earning a giggle out of Claire. "Like you said, we've all been there." Her voice was gentle, she was so nurturing. "We have been. I think after we're done calling, I'll make me some chicken salad. Dunno why but I've been craving it."
After Leon said that, Claire let out a joking gag, clearly not having a taste for that food.
"Gross! But eat whatever you'd like." His girlfriend teased him. "Oh? You don't like it? That's a shame." "No, not at all, it's rancid. Over my dead body would I eat it." Claire giggled again, she sounded beautiful. Leon couldn't get enough of her angelic voice. "That's alright, but you better like tuna salad." "I do. Definitely more my style." Claire snickered. Leon also bellowed.
"When do you think we can see each other again?" Claire asked Leon, clearly wanting him. Leon felt a sense of bliss overcome him. She wanted to see him? "Soon, I promise." "How soon?" "Well, how about tomorrow? I'll come by your place after work." "Really? I would love that." Claire articulated, her tone sunny. She was happy. She loves seeing Leon because it's just not the same over the phone. Leon feels the same.
"How was Miracle last night? I don't know if it was storming over there or not but, if it was." Leon asked, his voice worrisome. "She was apprehensive but eventually came out and slept in bed with me. Thank you for asking, it shows you care." "Well of course I care, you're my girl now." Leon chortled, his tone enchanting. He really made Claire feel good. Loved. Was he already in love with her? "I'm glad."
"Speaking of caring, I would love to take you out soon." He admitted. It's true, he has. They've only really been on one date, he'd love to go out on another with her. "Oh? To where?" "Anywhere." He stated. "It doesn't matter, as long as I'm with you." Leon cooed to his girlfriend. Claire's cheeks heated up at her boyfriend's kind words. "Well okay then." Claire giggled at his words. She once again felt like her inner child was being held by this man.
"You have any plans for later today?" "No, probably study more and watch a movie." "Oh, sounds interesting. Me either, probably just going to make dinner here soon, watch my show." Leon spoke. Claire nodded, her phone still up to her ear. "What are you going to make for dinner?" "Haven't quite decided yet... Either Steak or Pasta, both sound tasty." "Yeah they do, I'm just stuck with either frozen food or takeout." Claire laughed. Being a College student is rough.
"I know but it's for the greater good, you're in College, you'll eventually be a teacher and all will be well." Leon reassured her. He was ambitious, more than she was. He was a reason to keep pushing through. "I know. Thank you." Claire said with tranquil. Leon was a sweetie pie. "I just can't wait til I graduate, I hope there are good job openings." "It'll depend but with your record, you'll be sure to get one sooner than later." He explained to her. He was right.
Claire took his words to heart. She hopes he's correct.
"Easy for you to say," Claire layed on her stomach, her feet in the air, "you got a job offer quickly." Claire snorted. Leon chuckled. "You got me there baby." That was the first time Leon ever called her a pet name. Claire's eyes widened and her heart was already feeling as if it was out of her chest. This wasn't puppy love. What Claire felt was real and true. "Baby...?" Claire hummed over the phone. "Do you not want to be called that?" "I do. It just surprised me, but I like it." "Good baby." Leon snickered.
Claire bit her lower lip, mentally screaming. She felt a surge of love flow throughout her.
"Leon, can I ask you something?" Claire said hushly. "Anything." "Do you truly like me?" Leon was appalled by her question. Of course he does, why would he be with her if he didn't? If anything, he loves her. "Claire, of course I do, more than anybody." Leon whispered out, sitting up in his chair. "You do? I hope so." Claire soughed. "What's wrong?" "Nothing, I just wanted to know." "If you say so. I do like you Claire, more than you'd be able to know." "I like you a lot as well." She said.
They both sat in silence for a little bit. It felt relaxing. Just hearing Claire's light breathing calmed Leon in a way. She's so precious. She's the most dearest to him. Leon never expected himself to feel this way about someone, but Claire is an exception. She's a great woman. He loves being around her. She makes him laugh. They bonded so easily. It's as if she is the one. And maybe she is.
"Claire, I'm gonna let you go, I should get ready to start dinner and I don't wanna hold up your studying." He said softly. "Aw, okay, I understand." Claire replied, her voice sorrowful. "Let's call later tonight, yeah?" "Sure thing babe." She giggled, Leon twinkled at her remark. "Cute... Well, I'll talk to you later, yeah?" "Yep." "Bye Claire." "Bye bye, Leon." Her voice gently spoke. She seemed upset that Leon had to go but at least they'd be able to call later in the day.
He hung up the phone and set it down, letting out a long and deep sigh. He misses her voice already but he had to get some stuff done, plus she had to study. With her finals coming up, she'll be a lot more busy and it's shitty but Leon was there once too. He gets it. In the meantime though, Leon will start up dinner, he's decided on Pasta ; Pesto to be nitpicky. And he's making it with Rotini Noodles, his personal favorite.
He stood up, and got the supplies out, even turned on some music while he did.
