Delta didn't waste much time as she booked it from her pen and all but pounced him and curled herself around him having missed him. [cleverdelta]
Owen stumbled backwards, falling over and smiling up at Delta, leaning up to kiss her softly. “Well someone missed me... I’ll have to go away more often.

the hardest part about his VANISHING act was that no one would look her in the eye when she spoke of him. even owen, her own father, averted his gaze and her questions, as though ashamed of his answer. “ we can’t discuss that. “ it was the same response she got from her mother, from barry, from each and every person she could think to ask. charlotte figured she may have well been asking about a ghost. there one day, and gone the next. he was just --- GONE.
until he wasn’t. she’s moving down the hall, following a familiar maze of long corridors, turning yet another corner, and coming to a dead halt when she finds herself face to face with him. the grady girl’s fair features almost instantly shift into a half pained, half panicked expression as she stumbles a few steps back.

9. When reunited with your muse
She would have searched every square mile of that god forsaken island for him if they’d let her. Charlotte remembers the day she’d left vividly --- her father literally dragging her onto the ferry, kicking and screaming and pleading, because they couldn’t just leave, not when he was still out there, alive or injured or worse, which she blatantly refused to accept. They hadn’t listened.
Months passed. Claire insisted her daughter see a professional --- one who insisted she let go of the past. Accept what had happened, cut her losses. There’s no way he could have survived the incident, and even if he had, surviving that island was impossible with no resources. She didn’t say a word all through that session, electing instead to go home and bury her face into a pillow. She screamed herself hoarse. Screamed every last drop of him out of her system.
And then they got the call. She’d gone along in a state of disbelief --- they were dead, all of them. That’s what everyone had said, what she’d forced herself to believe. But then she was stepping off the chopper with her mother and father, and he’s standing there with his siblings.
Charlotte doesn’t know how she gets there, but suddenly they’re colliding, and she’s crying because he’s warm and solid and real, so unlike the version that’s been plaguing her nightmares for weeks on end. He’s covered in new scars, in bruises and cuts, and he’s worn, and tired, so tired, she can feel it --- but his arms are around her, just as safe and strong as she remembered, and his name is falling from her lips as she buries her face in the crook of his neck.
“They wouldn’t let me stay.” Her voice is muffled against his form, filled with an undeniable sort of pain. “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.” Like a broken record, she repeats the words, his name, voicing everything she hadn’t been able to since she’d last been on this island.
And after what seems like a lifetime, she settles. Her tears slow, the sobbing ceases, and she meets his gaze, seeking some kind of reassurance --- that he’s real, that all of this is real.
“I love you.” Voice is gentle, fingertips coming to brush across one of the many unfamiliar scars that litter his skin. “And I swear to God, I’m never letting them take you away from me again.”

12: ghost kiss
The sun is warm on her skin, the afternoon rays beating down upon Isla Nublar. She’s sitting on the beach, hazel hues focused out on the waves, where Blue, Echo and Charlie are playing some game or another. The fourth sibling sits behind her — Charlotte resting comfortably against his chest. Delta plays absentmindedly with her copper curls, pressing an affectionate kiss to the top of her head. “ I wish it could stay like this. “ She muses, and he hums his agreement. She wishes she could stop time, could section off this moment and live it again and again, happy and safe and surrounded by the ones she loves. Charlotte shifts in his grasp, sneaking a kiss. “ I love you, you know. “ Delta chuckles. “ I know. Always and forever, remember? “ He points out, drawing her in, capturing her lips once more —
She can feel the pressure of his mouth on hers even when she wakes, tangled up in cold sheets. Fingers press to her lips, a desperate attempt to hold on to the familiar sensation — but it’s fading, in time with the tears that slide down her cheeks. And then, the moment is over, and she’s alone again, and he’s gone, gone, GONE. “ — I remember. “

Pressing his lips together, Delta heaved a sigh even though he was still thrumming with anger. ’That’s not fair, Char and you know it.’ His voice was a deep bass of the growl that rumbled low in his throat as he leaned down and ran his lips along the side of her neck.
She stifles the smirk that threatens at his reaction --- plush lips instead parting as his mouth meets her skin. “ Not fair? “ Charlotte echoes, the picture of innocence -- despite the way her heart pounds in her chest at his proximity. “ Well, that is a problem ... you should probably PUNISH me for it. “ Suggestion is practically purred into his ear, slender fingers brushing down his chest.
