Getting called all the way to England to assist on a case was definitely new to Daniel, as he primarily considered himself an FBI consultant rather than just a general assistant. Still, while he sorted out his feelings for one Kate Moretti, perhaps it was best to distance himself from her as much as possible. So he was here, now, playing the "I'm avoiding my best friend" game while he tried to puzzle out where in the hell the crime scene even was. Showed him for getting separated from his escort.
He was just about to give up entirely when he noted a girl across the street, and felt a flutter of anxiety in the pit of his stomach.
"Ask her for directions," came Natalie's voice, beside him. He turned to look at her, shook his head. "You'll never find your way there unless you ask someone. What are you so scared of? Go on, go ask."
Swallowing, Daniel tried to pluck up the courage to just... go across the street and ask the way to the local library. It wouldn't be hard. Just a few words. He took a breath and looked both ways before crossing, clutching his bag to his chest out of illogical anxiety.
"Excuse me," he said, reaching out to tap her on the shoulder awkwardly. "Hi. Sorry, I'm not exactly from around here, and I was just wondering if you knew the way to the library."
