#clicktoplay Video courtesy of the "Atlanta Watchman," aka @johnbeeler Our ( @lukeecrawley and I's) sculptures are up and running! That might not seem like a big deal to most of you but after installing on Sunday and Monday I had to leave #Atlanta only able to hope and pray that the sculptures would turn based on the #solar cell. @johnbeeler was my assurance that All would be well. I learned about the amazing progression the city was moving forward with two years ago and it became a personal goal to have work on the @atlantabeltline ever since. Tonight, it is official. Caelum, is a conceptual interpretation of the correlation between physical earth, sound and light as key components in the classic movie “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” When I think of the word supernatural I instantly think of the spiritual: the extraterrestrial. This piece is meant to explore our connection to both the physical realm (by utilizing dirt as medium) as well as that of the celestial (light and sound). Mankind has always had an affinity for that unknown and intangible realm. Is it innately in us to reach out toward that unknown? What drives mankind to connect our earthbound bodies to something “out there?” As an artist team, Quincy is continually exploring the spiritual nature within humanity.
