I love how the Ewings are the main characters of the show, Dallas, yet I find myself rooting for Cliff Barnes. Like yes king, expose them corrupt oil men.

Ken Kercheval in Dallas pilot episode (1978).
Dallas villain Ken Kercheval has passed away at the age 83. He was best known as Cliff Barnes, the arch enemy to fellow oilman J.R. Ewing and the Ewing clan. Even though he was the brother of Pam, he often riled up J.R. and Bobby.
He was the perfect villain opposit of J.R. (Larry Hagman).
RIP
Back on my Dallas rabbit hole again. I'm just going to say it. Cliff was in love with JR. There's no other plausible explanation as to why he was invested in everything JR did.
I know about the backstory that Jock stole the oil company from Digger and blah, blah, blah.
Get real. Cliff was a lawyer in Texas. All he had to do to regain the fortune he claimed was stolen, and he was trying to get back at the Ewings for, was just be a halfway decent lawyer in Texas. He would have money rolling in.
He wasn't concerned with what Bobby was doing, unless JR was involved. He didn't care what Jock was doing, unless JR was involved. It wasn't about the Ewings, it was about JR.
The man was in love. Can't change my mind.
