where they don't play hockey they're office workers or something and shane is out. jj is super involved in gay spaces bc he's a great friend and wants to be a better friend (#ally well he's bi but he doesn't know). theres a queer club/diner thats having a date night where couples get a discount so he invites shane just to get his friend out of the house. shane has nothing better to do.
he was not expecting to see the most gorgeous, absolute adonis at the club. he finds out the adonis's name is ilya and he's a server at the club. shane has never regretted agreeing to let jj rope him in to this plan. its not all bad, jj seems to be a regular and most people are nice to him by virtue of he being 'jj's boyfriend'. well, everyone but the bartender who keeps staring at jj and ignoring shane when he tries to order a drink. maybe he and jj don't get along and by proxy he doesn't like shane?
shane's weighing the options of how to approach ilya (look like a two timing douche, pretend to break up and after a bit ask for his number, come clean abt lying for a discount?). jj is blissfully ignorant as he chats with the mean bartender, who clearly likes jj well enough but refuses to even look in shane's direction. whatever, shane just can't keep his eyes off ilya.
