(cliipsought) As much as Kyle's instincts were screaming for a chance to get to investigating what was going on, he knew it'd be fruitless to try and focus on that when suspicion was on him. Kyle responded to Alfendi's inquiries - irritating as it was, he knew he had to be impartial, no matter what their brief history was. "Not much for me to say - I was in the bathroom upstairs at the time. I'd like to say I know I have witnesses... but it's too early to be pointing fingers anyway."

A couple nods as Alfendi mentally notes Kyle’s statements. Quick, sufficient, to the point. At the very least someone knew what they were doing around here.

(cliipsought) "... Layton." NOW it was clicking with Kyle. That last name wasn't one of someone you forgot once you knew them. "Ah - the name's Kyle Hyde. I remember you - you were the big inspector on the force, weren't you? We were on the same case a couple times."

For perhaps the first time all night, Alfendi’s eyes light up with surprise, and his rather bored look turns intrigued. “You--Mr. Hyde! Yes, now I remember.” For one awful second, Alfendi thought Kyle was going to name his father--the name “Layton” was a bit world-renowned after all of Hershel Layton’s adventures. But no--thankfully, Kyle knew Alfendi of his own merits. That was nice.

And truthfully, Alfendi’s actually interested now, as he remembers those cases... and they were rather intriguing, all things considered. “It has been a couple years now, hasn’t it? Fancy seeing you here again at Walker’s party.”

He hopes that Kyle catches on--how peculiar that they were both invited to the party when they worked on a previous case together relating to Walker.

Peculiar indeed.

Person of Interest Added!

Kyle Hyde: A former NYC detective turned salesman. Worked on a few cases related to Walker. A bit rough initially, though good-hearted.

(cliipsought) "Hey, excuse me." Kyle was never a fan of initiating conversation. He preferred it when the interactions came to him... but there was something clicking with this red-haired man walking around that his old cop instincts weren't quite pulling up enough of, and Kyle couldn't leave it be. "I feel like I've seen you somewhere before. Mind if I ask your name?"

“Hm?” At the voice, Alfendi turns, and gears immediately begin to spin in his mind. Hand goes to his chin in thought, and Alfendi’s eyes narrow slightly. He feels the same familiarity looking at this scruffy man, but he can’t place why. “Yes, I feel like I’ve seen you before as well... Could we have possibly worked together? Name’s Alfendi Layton, Inspector of Scotland Yard.”

His memory was failing him--where before had he seen this man?
