As a team of three, all wanting to lead pitches, it wasn't a simple matter of swinging leads last weekend. 🪢 Each pitch was a rotation of gear and a potentially some rope adjustment too. I actually managed to go off route turning a simplel traverse on Outside Edge Route (VD) into something a lot harder. I knew i'd gone wrong but was mislead by an in situ nut that I found, convincing myself I was on the right route. In hindsight, that was a probably a bit of gear someone had bailed on. 🧗🏻♂️ The other key issue this little diversion introduced was our friend 'rope drag'. I've never had such a fight pulling ropes through.
