so, on the eve of releasing the final track i’ve had a recent change of heart about releasing the last song from my “21 Days of Bouldering” series…instead, i will release it on New Years Day! i figure you guys will have enough material to listen to until then, plus it’s another track with a feature on it, so i know you guys will be super stoked on it! until then… DAY TWENTY: Quack Daddy Donuts ARTWORK PHOTO: @jee_jet ORIGINAL SONG: “Cat Daddy” by The Rej3ctz CONCEPT: one of my greatest loves that isn’t a human being…DONUTS. namely, donuts from what i believe is probably the best donut shop in the state, and is one of my top five donut shops in the country. and believe me, i know a thing or two about donuts across the country, lol. so admittedly, this song was a whimsical effort by me, but it’s one of my favorite De La Soul songs, so i couldn’t resist! don’t hate it too much, hahaha. DAY NINETEEN: V3, V4, V5 ARTWORK PHOTO: @jee_jet ❤️ ORIGINAL SONG: “Me, Myself and I” by De La Soul CONCEPT: aside from me goofing around, this song is about the idea of base building versus grade chasing. as my climbing friends know, i have grown to prefer to be really strong & versatile at the current grade i’m in, as opposed to pursuing the highest grade i currently can…at least for now, haha. nah but seriously, it’s just me talking about my efforts to be a strong, balanced climber. no added comments today - i’m running short on words, haha…actually, never mind. check out this track highlighting my undeniable climbing confidence, despite being of mediocre strength and humble beginnings. number eight, comin’ atcha! hey, guys! looks like it’s finally time to start my release of Part II of “Tape.CLIMB.PerfectRepeat.”…so, here you are - the first day of “21 Days of Bouldering”! DAY ONE: Pre-Season Workout ORIGINAL SONG: “Can’t Tell Me Nothin’” by Kanye West CONCEPT: I wanted to have a solid intro to the bouldering mixtape, and this one kind of happened by accident…i actually think @soldierclimber may have jokingly said the “wait till I get my training right” part, because that’s how i saw the amazing parallel between the message of the original song and training for rock climbing. it’s basically just a song about being motivated to prove others wrong - in this case, when i get my training game on point…people won’t have jack-shit to say about me. hahaha. fun fact, i was actually sick when i recorded all of this - see if you can tell!
