ORIGINAL SONG: “Pound Cake” by Drake CONCEPT: again, nothing groundbreaking in terms of concept - i was coming off some training when i thought of these lyrics, and have always wanted to rap to this beat…the small connection between “pound cake” and “bread loaf pinches” is what made me think to do the song in the first place, haha. i also love the “i told you so” vibe that comes from the original song, so i wanted to recreate that with a climbing theme, as well as get @ronin.fm to go in on this with me.. another fun fact - i actually recorded the third verse last night, so this one comes fresh out of the studio! haha, gotta get it in where it fits, even if it’s the night before - am i right?
