Among the highlights of Saturday night at #climbsmart2017 was JTNP superintendent David Smith getting a surprise video feature (hadn't seen it) to welcome him up to the Astronomy Theater stage, where he welcomed the climbing community in a fun, compelling way. He asked us all to help steward, manage, and responsibly recreate in our Park, and keep open lines of communication with rangers and his staff. It's a very different day in Joshua Tree compared to the early days of FOJT @joshuatreefriends, but the fight to keep climbing areas open isn't completely over by any means. There are those who would keep us out, and sell to the highest bidder. There are two areas right here in SoCal currently closed to climbing or any recreational access. Support your LCO and the @accessfund and be part of the solution! #keepitpublic ##jtclimberstewards #defendaccess
