Morning Korean Skincare Routine for Dry and Sensitive Skin (+ VIDEO)

Hey shimmers! It’s been a hot minute since I published a skincare routine post. Three, four, years? kkkk~ Some of the reasons why I don’t really post much about the details of my skincare routine are (1) It changes a lot, considering the variety of PR products I’d like to test, (2) My skin type has become very unpredictable, sometimes dry, sometimes oily, (3) It’s difficult to explain my skincare routine in writing!

Well finally, I’m going to update you guys of how my mornings go with my current favorite skincare products from Korean brands. I managed to do a quick video before heading out of the house to explain how I start my mornings with a fully hydrating pre-makeup routine. 

MY CURRENT SKIN TYPE

Brief background about my skin’s current state - Dry and Sensitive. I have always known my skin to be very oily, but for the past 5 months, my skin’s mostly dry with visible dry patches present around my nose, mouth and cheek areas. To make things worse, my skin has always been so sensitive, so it’ll itch or have tiny bumps whenever I’m exposed to too much heat, dust and alcohol-based skincare products.

In order to resolve this, I’ve been incorporating a lot of moisture-boosting products in my routine, most specifically serums and face oils. For my current pre-makeup routine, here are the products I’m currently using (listed in order of how I use them).

CLIV Revitalizing Toner - it comes in a 1 LITER bottle, no kidding! One pump covers the entire face. It’s a vitamin toner featuring Niacinamide, Ponciri Extract, Morus Bark Extract and Green Tea Extract to help brighten and moisturize the skin.

BRTC Prestige 24K Gold caviar Essence - it has a thicker consistency compared to usual toners so it instantly leaves the skin dewy. It features 24K Gold extract and Caviar as its star ingredients. It’s rich in amino acids, minerals and vitamins to help the skin combat signs of aging.

"No, I'm just messing with you!" "But then how did you...?" They're both smiling as he trails off, something sweet about still being close with the-maybe-one-that-got-away. "You always went out of your way to find the spiciest food for me, remember? That stuff was hot enough to burn the skin right off your fingers, but I don't think you ever complained." "Yeah...," and he smiles a bit wider, bumping shoulders back with her. "I remember that."

I just played for a bit, and came across an interesting bit of lore about him, though they brushed over it very quickly. Clive himself stated that, during his time in the castle in his youth, he spent a lot of time in the bailey. I did more research, and this portion of the castle is the economic area, for the working class people that keep the castle running. You'd find the barracks, stables, workshops, and kitchens in this section. This is so interesting, because Clive is the eldest son of the Archduke of this castle, and nobility don't generally spend time in the bailey.

My man's has been kicking it with the working class all of his life.

Extra: Don't trust Clive with plants / foraging. An herbalist asked him about a common plant found in his homeland, and Clive basically shrugged.

The Circle Limit Series of M.C. Escher

In July 1960, shortly after his 62nd birthday, the graphic artist M.C. Escher completed Angels and Devils, the fourth (and final) woodcut in his Circle Limit Series. I have a vivid memory of my first view of a print of this astonishing work. Following sensations of surprise and delight, two questions rose in my mind. What is the underlying design? What is the purpose? Of course, within the world of Art, narrowly interpreted, one might regard such questions as irrelevant, even impertinent. However, for this particular work of Escher, it seemed to me that such questions were precisely what the artist intended to excite in my mind.
