Whoooaaa I just won a game of clock solitaire, a game that is only winnable 7.6% of the time?? (At least, it says so here)
Lol I was intending to playtest some ways to introduce more strategy to the game to make it more solvable, but I ended up never getting to the playtesting because I accidentally laid out a winnable game??

So, my power was out last night. I had nothing but a deck of cards and a burning desire to know if there was a Homestuck update to entertain myself with (there wasn't). But while thinking of Homestuck and screwing around with the cards, I developed an exciting new game for everyone to play...
~*TROLL MASSACRE SOLITAIRE*~
Now, do you know how to play Clock Solitaire? No? Well here are the rules.
Understood? No? OK, brief summary:
In Clock Solitaire you place all the cards face down in the shape of a clock, 4 cards in each clock position and 4 in the middle. As you play, each move places your upturned card in its respective clock position, with the Queen going in the 12 o'clock position, the Ace going in the 1 o'clock position, the 2 going in the 2 o'clock position and so on. The king goes in the middle. Here's a handy reference pic.
So how do we apply Homestuck? As you may have noticed, there are 4 suites in every deck, with 13 cards per suit. In this game the suits will only be important to the king, because I made the kids kings. John is the King of Spades, Dave is the King of Hearts, Jade is the King of Clubs, and Rose is the King of Diamonds. With the kids as kings, there are 12 remaining cards: one for each troll. Arranging them by hemospectrum/astrological sign, Aradia is the Ace, Tavros is the 2, Sollux is the 3, and so on. Here's a handy reference pic.
In traditionally played Clock Solitaire, you only win if you upturn every card before turning all 4 kings. In this version you'll win every time, because every time you turn a king you're successfully guiding a kid through the Game -- if you upturn the King of Diamonds you've brought Rose out of the Game, and so on. The only difference in each play-through is how many trolls DIE before you get all 4 kids out, because every time you upturn all for suits for a card a troll gets killed.
You might have some extra fun by noting which trolls are killing which: if the last Jack you overturned came from your 6 o'clock pile, Kanaya killed Eridan. (Note: if a troll dies from an upturned card in the king pile, assume they died in the Scratch). Or you can make note of which troll guided which kid through the game (challenge: now you must ship them).
In my last game, Nepeta guided Rose, Tavros guided John, Feferi guided Jade, and Aradia guided Dave. Gamzee and Karkat were the only trolls left alive at the end XD
