Hey do you do HEMA or are you a sword nerd? (Not that they are exclusive)

I do, do HEMA! Its why i know sword nerd things! My favourite is side sword. Particularly sword and cloak. I’ve also done a fair bit of poleaxe and longsword, and a little bit of spear/spear and rotella.

I’ve occasionally pretended to know rapier for demonstrating to small children when no other rapier users were around at our demo booth for events (i know how to stand at least, they’re frickin heavy)

I want to try sabre but we dont really have them at my club so Id have to get my own.

Sadly I havent been much since the pandemic aside from the occasional park meetup with friend when there was still light in the evenings.

Yourself? I think you mentioned once you were part of the longsword crowd? German tradition? (We do Italian mostly) or maybe I’m getting you confused with someone else in the fandom. I know there’s at last 3 of us around and I think Everyone else was doing german longsword?

my Captain Swan Comic project hit 30 pages of roughs tonight! Super big thanks to all the CS Nanowrimo crew who helped keep me on track this month!

I hope to keep that momentum going and finish up the rest of the roughs in december so I can move on to inking :D

Its astounding how quickly the switch flipped from “air quality smoke warnings are rare or uncommon” to “at least once a year”.

I spent 10 years on the west coast before encountering wildfire smoke and then once it started happening in the summer it just kept coming back.

Like I knew it was going to be a thing but damn, Climate change arrived faster than I thought it would.
