CLOCKWORKDJ - CLOCKTWERK (Prod by Larry Fisherman)
Clockwork Does a 180 But He's Not Going Counter Clockwise
I'm going to start off by saying Mac Miller, Clock, and their whole crew is crazy, but in a good way. I would love to sit down with them and observe their creative process. You can tell by the name of the record this was something completely random. Obviously Clock is a better DJ than he is an emcee, but nonetheless this video is kind of trippy, Larry Fisherman aka. Mac Miller produced a dope beat and they had fun. I do like to see artist trying new things, taking risk, and showing their true character from time to time. Emcee who take themselves to seriously are draining to listen to on record or in real-life. Check out this new visual from the Pittsburg homies and tell us what you thought about it. Clocktwerk (& Role Change)
So I was doing some solo boot-camping since yesterday and I was only playing two heroes at the time (Puck with Bots, Clock in Pubs). But the match history doesn't show anymore; I was hoping to keep track of my practice but yeah, Volvo. But as far as I can remember, the first day was bad: 2-5. But today's a bit okay: 4-1. So it's a 6-6 and I still have 8 more games to go. I hope to win those 8 games, straight.
Why Clocktwerk? - I don't really know. He's just flashy and can be annoying if used perfectly. If I can lock his items, I go for BKB, Agh's Scepter, Arc Boots, Dagger, BM, and VG/Heart. But it really depends on the situation, as well as the picks and flow of the game. If it's fast paced (push strat), I get force staff after arc boots to add a bit of mobility and 130 mana and HP regen. Gotta love those little things. But if the game is like Chinese farm x farm x hardcore x farm more type, I always pick up VG because I need to tank. Then go Blademail next. Doesn't really matter if I die, the role of Clock is to initiate and isolate key heroes. Also, BM helps me to make them focus me despite the tankiness and armor it brings. I usually end up dying but taking most of the carry heroes' life points.
I would also like to point out that Clock is one busy hero (but it really depends on the user). When I face a trilane, I make sure they don't get too close to me. I've made quite good practice with cog positioning to repel approaching heroes and spam rockets directly to the mid lane. Well, that's because I can't kill three heroes with those flares but it's a different story in mid lane. It cancels regen, cancels intention to last hit, cancels guts, cancels potions, cancels everything. Also, it helps the mid solo a lot; annoying is winning because annoying takes someone out of his game.
Support to Offlane - To me, roles depend on the characteristics of the player. I'm not a bad support but I'm losing the skills I have before; maybe it's also because of playing too much AI and switching to LOL for three months. As a gamer, I never cared for getting kills; it doesn't really matter as long as you eliminate one from the teamfight. I also have difficulties in last hitting and I was just like "Whoa, I suck; I can't play carry" and before, I didn't know who to aim because I believe carries were only right-clicking the fuck out of anyone. And most especially, it's a difficult thing to carry a game. That's why, Support.
But Offlane is rather different; It's a mix of support skills and mid solo skills. Because most of the time, you won't be able to farm; especially when you're up against offensive trilane. You'll have to abandon the lane if it comes to that point you see. And you must not feed; which is also a hard thing to do because you do not get levels and therefore, you are more squishy, easy to get initiated. Downside is that you don't have gold, you don't gain exp; nothing, basically.
But that's the challenge in it; Support heroes must be very comfortable with not having farm. Support heroes are those heroes who can do something. And offlane is a part of that. The mid solo skills are basically individual skills like map awareness, reflex-reaction time and a lot of James Bond-ing. Offlane is a mix of those two.
About the personality of the player, I find comfort in being alone. I like to face challenges that I cannot even go up against. Support me has already passed on and should remain in DotA 1. But DotA 2, things are very different now. I can feel an improvement in me, after training with Clocktwerk. As for the next heroes, I still have to learn them first. I hate Batrider and Dark Seer offlane but I guess it couldn't be helped.
Sorry noob blog post.
