Author’s Note: This is my final bingo post! This has been fun!
A full day in hyperspace meant catching up on tasks for some and rest for others. You were one of the few who had constant tasks to tend to, so you would be busy. For instance, the caf machine in the mess hall wasn’t working – again. You were about to get your travel bag of tools to get started when you heard your name from behind you.
You looked over your shoulder and saw Tup walking up to your workbench. “What?”
“Come to the gym with me?”
You chuckled. “When I have tasks to tend to?”
“We’re in hyperspace, and we will be for the next rotation. Feel like sparring with me?” Tup asked with a grin.
You sighed exaggeratedly, closed your eyes as if frustrated at the interruption, then opened one eye. He was still looking at you with hope. With those puppy dog eyes, slightly lopsided smile, and that curly hair back in a bun, how could you say no?
“Fine, okay, I’ll spar with you. Give me a few minutes, okay?”
“Okay!”
. . .
“Come on, land a blow. What are you waiting for, second meal to be gourmet?” you taunted. You took another playful swipe at him. A small grin came over his face and he dodged, then hooked an arm around your waist. The move wiped both you off your feet and your smile off your face as you came into contact with the floor mat.
Tup started to chuckle as you struggled beneath him to get out of the hold. He stopped, though, looking at you with softening eyebrows and his lips parting, though you didn’t know what for. You weren’t going to stop to find out, so as soon as his grip loosened in the slightest, you broke out of his grasp and rolled away. He looked up at you as if coming out of a haze and you frowned.
“Timeout,” you said, pushing yourself to your feet, then walking back over to Tup. “You okay?”
His brow furrowed, then he nodded. “Yeah, uh, I think so.”
“Alright, then. Again?”
He nodded again and got back into position.
. . .
“Timeout,” he whispered from above you. You stopped struggling. The flyaways from his bun were caught in the glow of the lights coming from the ceiling and made him look like he had a halo around his head. He looked ethereal, darkened cheeks and kind eyes included. Then you glanced between his eyes and his lips, cursing in your head when he caught you
“You look like you wanna kiss me,” he continued in a hushed voice. “What are you waiting for?”
You swallowed thickly. “Your permission.”
“You always have my permission.” He leaned in and pressed a kiss to your slightly parted lips. Both of you closed your eyes and he licked the bottom of your lip. You opened your mouth to him, but he kept his tongue to himself until yours traced his bottom lip, your mouths moving against each other in sync.
His hands travelled from your shoulders to your outstretched wrists, then hands, and a small whine left his throat. Your hands then traced up his arms, causing him to shudder, and you moved your fingers delicately up his toned arms, over his strong shoulders, and to his chest.
You giggled and before he could say or do anything, you flipped him over. Your lips pulled apart and you grinned triumphantly. He, however, looked dazed.
“Wow,” he breathed.
“First kiss while sparring?” you asked smugly, already knowing the answer to this silly question.
He nodded from beneath you.
“Mine, too. It was fantastic, Tup.”
You started to climb off him, but he grabbed your hips. It wasn’t a grip that was tight enough to bruise, but it was enough to get your exercise-darkened cheeks to darken further, his fingertips slightly digging into your hips. The breath that left your lips was less than appropriate for such a public place as the workout room. Granted, you were the only ones here, but it was only a matter of time before someone saw you.
“Tup, someone might find us.”
“I’ve waited so long for this.” He sat up, your name soft from his mouth. He came almost face to face with you again and you settled back a little. “I-I was hoping that you have, too.”
“Oh, Tup,” you said in a bemused tone. “Of course I have.”
He smiled shyly. “You’re not just teasing me?”
“I’m not.” You pressed a quick kiss to the tip of his nose. “Now, as much as I like this easy access to your face, we need to get up.”
He blushed. “Okay.”
You climbed off his lap, then walked over to your exercise towel, throwing it over your shoulder. “I think I’m going to go wash up. What do you think?”
His eyebrows furrowed until you shot a wink at him over your shoulder. His entire face lit up and he grabbed his water canteen. “I-I think I should, too.”
Plot: Jesse is your most frequent visitor to the medbay, and for good reason.
Warnings: None, this is pure fluff.
Word Count: 865
Author’s Note: I just realized this one and the Wolffe one have similar kisses. I have no regrets.
The groan that left your mouth was certainly exasperated and slightly exaggerated when the medbay doors opened up and Jesse came in, looking slightly apologetic.
“Hey again…”
“What did you do this time – no wait. I’m not asking that question anymore. Just take a seat and tell me what I need to heal now.”
“I sprained a finger while wrestling Hardcase.” He pulled off his gloves, which he probably didn’t need to do.
You rolled your eyes and dug out your medical tape from your travel bag. As usual, you did your best to focus on his injury and not his proximity. The heat he put off. The callouses on his large hands when his gloves were off. The almost shy way he would look at you. The Republic cog tattoo overlaid over most of his face that wrinkled with each micro change in his expression.
You finally finished taping his fingers, then had to stop yourself from sighing in relief as you stepped away from him.
“One of these days, you’ll be able to keep yourself out of my medbay,” you chuckled softly, trying to hide your nervousness.
“I don’t want that day to come,” he said, his voice a little quieter.
You frowned. “Why?”
“Because this is the only way I can see you for an extended amount of time.”
You snorted. “Why would you want to see me?”
“Because… because I love you,” he mumbled and you just about screeched to a stop on your feet.
“You-you what?” Then, you sighed. “You don’t, because you barely know me. You only know me as a medic, not as a person.”
“Every time I’ve been in here, I’ve learned something new about you. Your passion for your home world, your favorite holoshow, the way your nose crinkles when you’re upset, how bright your eyes get when talking about a childhood pet. You’ve told me a lot about yourself. And I love it all.”
You pulled back, standing up straighter in the process, mouth slightly ajar. You had told him all of that, hadn’t you? Every cut, sprain, dislocation, or bonk on the head. You had traded stories with him, laughs, and smiles. He knew more than you thought he did.
“You paid attention to all of it.”
“Of course I did. A-and I understand if you don’t want to be with me, me being a patient and all, but I just thought it was time that you knew.” He looked at his middle finger and ring finger now taped together. “Anyway, thanks. I know how long this needs to stay on, so I can untape it myself. I’ll see myself out.”
“Jesse -”
He left without glancing back at you, an unusual hunch in his shoulders prominent before the doors slid closed.
. . .
When you saw him next, it was three days later. He had been purposely avoiding you. How did you know? He hadn’t tried to be in range of you – viewing, hearing, touching… none of it.
Normally, you took lunch with the other medics, but you decided to methodically seek him out, sick of this game. You realized how much you’d miss him if he stopped coming to see you, and it left a massive ache in your chest. Your fellow medics egged you on and convinced you that you weren’t just developing feelings for a patient, but for a friend. You’d talked about him quite a bit with an emotion you hadn’t yet admitted to.
You walked up to him at the mess hall entrance and grabbed his wrist, then pulled.
He gasped, then said, “Hey, whoa, I said I could untape my fingers myself!”
You didn’t say a word as you dragged him out of the mess and around a corner, pushing him against a wall with your forearm. You were well aware he could free himself, but based on his wide eyes, he was too shocked to try.
“You think you can come into the medbay and talk to me like that and not expect me to answer?” You waved your finger in his face. He opened his mouth to protest. “No, no, it’s my turn. You had your time. If you think you can say all of that and then avoid me, then you’re afraid of my answer. Well, mister, try again. I will not let you avoid me, because I have one thing to say to you.”
“And what’s that?” he broke in, the nervousness shaking his tone despite the attempted bravado.
You grabbed the collar of his chest piece and pulled him forward, pressing your lips to his a little harsher than you had intended. He didn’t seem to mind, though, because his hands met your waist and dug in, centering himself as he moved his lips against yours.
By the end of the kiss, you both were breathing heavy. He smiled cheekily.
“I thought you had something to say to me.”
You grinned. “That was it.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, I must not have heard it. I think you’ll have to try again.” He bent his head down, chasing your lips as you laughed, telling him you love him, too, before kissing him back.

“Hawk!” you yelled from under the ship. “What did you do to my baby?”
“Your baby? It’s my ship!” he laughed.
“Not if you’re not taking care of her!”
He scooted under with you. “What did you find?”
“The reason the landing gear jammed.” You held up your gloved hands and played with the substance between your fingers, a disgusted look on your face. “I don’t know what it is, but it’s sticky, gritty, and all kinds of nasty.”
Hawk scrunched up his nose. “Gross.”
“Yeah, you’re telling me. It doesn’t smell like gear grease, so it had to come from the last mission.”
“What does it smell like?”
You held your fingers over to him and he sniffed, then his whole face contorted at the rancid smell. “Oh, is that where that smell is coming from? I thought something crawled in and died in this hangar bay.”
“Precisely why I don’t favor the idea of finding out what this is. I just want it gone.” You pulled your hand back and wiped it on a towel. He gave the towel a disgusted look and you laughed. “Oh, don’t worry. It’s the most threadbare towel I have. I’ll burn it and space the ashes once I’m done.”
Hawk laughed and you smiled as you watched him. You had it for him. You had it pretty good. Or pretty bad, it was hard to tell anymore. It probably started because he was the one you spent the most time with aside from the other mechanics. It may have even been because he actually cared about the tactics you used on his LAAT/i when you worked on it. It wasn’t all that often you worked on a ship the pilot would actually stay around to see fixed up. He’d started off teasing you, but then started wanting to learn over time.
“Y/N? You okay?” Hawk asked, breaking into your thoughts.
You turned away and blinked. “Yeah, sorry. I’m just a little tired. Guess I’m lucky I’ll get some time off soon with the leave.”
His face fell a little. “Yeah. I’m glad you get to go on that vacation you were talking about. But what will we do without you?”
You laughed. “Hopefully not get into too much trouble! Otherwise the other mechanics will make sure I never hear the end of it! ‘Oh, yeah, they broke this and this while you were gone and then I had to clean it.’”
He chuckled. “I’ll do my best.”
“Your best to stay out of trouble, or do your best to get into trouble?”
“Maybe a little bit of both, gotta keep life interesting for you.”
You turned back to the gooey purple stuff on the landing gear. “Oh, don’t worry. You always do. Hey, if you’re sticking around, mind grabbing me the dental pick from my tool kit? There’s a couple spots I’ll need to reach into that my fingers can’t.”
“Will you burn that, too, after cleaning?”
You laughed again. “Only to sterilize it!”
He crawled out of his spot and you watched the back of his head as he did. His maroon wing tattoos mirrored each other from the base of his skull and wrapped up to his temples. There was a pair of darker Jaig eyes hidden at the start of each wing, one eye on each. The tattoos were darkened still by the shadow of the close shave he had. You didn’t know the origin of the eyes, but they matched Captain Rex’s so there had to be a connection there and in regards to his piloting.
He then crawled back under with the tool which you grabbed from him, your hands just brushing each other. He looked like he was about to say something else, but a couple troopers called his name.
“Go on, I’ve got it.” You smiled, then turned back to the mess. “Go have some down time.”
He did a look between the door and you, then gave you an apologetic look before leaving.
. . .
“I’m sorry, what do you mean permission was retracted?”
“Exactly what it says. You’re needed here.”
“But this shore leave was guaranteed to me.”
The head mechanic gave you a sympathetic look and put his hand on your shoulder. “I wish there was more I could do. I’m sorry.”
You turned away numbly. Three months. You had been guaranteed this time off just like the others on your civilian team. You had planned everything with your friends back home three months in advance. Now it was all gone.
You meandered to the mess hall and numbly grabbed a tray before plopping down at an empty table. Your shift was over, Hawk’s landing gear was clean and functional, and now you had nothing to distract you.
Time passed, or maybe it didn’t because of how tired you were, so when Hawk showed up, you didn’t know how long you had been sitting, prodding at your food as if expecting it to stand up and do a dance.
“Hey-oh, what happened? Is the gear done for?” Hawk immediately sat beside you.
“Oh, no, your gear’s just like new.” You turned back to your full tray and Hawk pushed his away slightly to turn his full attention – and body – to you.
“Food worse than usual? Something hurt? What is it?”
“I’m staying here, Hawk. I’ve been denied my vacation. Too many campaigns need my expertise. Guess you’ll be seeing more of me than you thought.”
His mouth dropped open. “Hey, no, that’s not what I -”
“I know.” You gave him a half-smile to try to reassure him. “It’s not your fault.”
“Even though it’s not my fault, I’m still sorry to hear you won’t get that rest you need. That you won’t get to go exploring and spend time in the sun.”
“Thanks,” you said quietly, then pushed your tray away and rested your chin on your arms. “Oh, by the way, I found the source of that goo. It was organic, not mechanic.”
“What was it?”
“Trust me when I say you don’t want to know.” You sighed, then grabbed your tray and stood up, looking at it guiltily.
His voice was soft when he spoke. “Hey, I’ll take care of it. It’s okay.”
You gave him a small smile, a real one, then set the tray down and walked away. Even if you weren’t going on vacation, you were at least going to try to get some rest.
. . .
A few hours later, a knock came at the door of your quarters, rousing you from your sleep.
“Hey,” said Hawk. He stood before you in only the lower half of his kit, rubbing the back of his neck and looked like his mind was elsewhere. He looked really, really cute.
You blinked. Clearly you were delirious. “Hi.”
“I don’t mean to bother you, but -”
“What did you break?”
His eyes widened and he lifted his hands. “Nothing, I swear! I just wanted to show you something.”
You chuckled softly. “Okay, what did your brothers break?”
“Still nothing. I checked.”
Your brow furrowed. “What do you mean you checked?”
“It’s… easier to explain if I show you.”
. . .
“Hawk, where are we going? This isn’t the way to the hangar bay.”
“I know. Just trust me. Trust me like I trust you.”
You blushed. “Okay.”
After another minute, he let go of your hand in front of a door. “Trust me?”
You nodded and he placed his hands over your eyes. You heard the door open and he guided you in. When you heard the door close, you could feel his arms move away from you. “Open your eyes.”
When you did, you were stunned. The room was lit in warm light only by four lamps on the floor set to medium and a blanket canopy hung in the middle of the room. Under the canopy were a few pillows piled up and another blanket. A mess room tray had snacks on it, and a datapad sat next to it.
“Hawk, did you do all this?” you asked in a hushed tone. He had even gotten you the good snacks!
He rubbed the back of his neck. “I had a little help. I know it’s not the vacation you wanted, but -”
You threw your arms around his neck. “Thank you! This is so sweet!”
He hesitantly wrapped his arms around your waist, and you pulled back quickly.
“I’m sorry, that was very inappropriate of me to do.”
“Wait, no, I uh… I liked it.”
You looked back up at him.
“Can I… can I admit something? You don’t have to reciprocate, I promise.” He paused a moment to confirm he still had your attention. Worry creased his brow and the low light in the room exacerbated the lines. “I like you. More than… more than a friend.”
“You’re not kidding, are you?” you asked softly, excitement starting to bubble in your chest.
“No, I’m serious.”
You hugged him again. “I’ve had a crush on you for a while, now.”
“Oh, thank the Maker.” He hugged you back.
After a moment, you pulled away. “Do you have anywhere to be soon?”
He shook his head. “Not unless something comes up. Why?”
You bit your lower lip. “Would you like to join me on my ‘vacation’?”
His eyes brightened. “I’d really like that.”
“Come on, then, help me pick a holovid. Maybe we can share my snacks.” You winked.
He picked you up and spun you around before settling you on the ground again, laughing at your squeal. “I’d really like to kiss you right now,” he said quietly.
“Me, too,” you whispered back and leaned to catch his lips with yours. The kiss was soft and sweet until he picked you up and carried you to lay amongst the pillows. You broke the kiss to giggle.
“What?” he asked.
“Oh, nothing. Just that hawks mate for life and you just laid me down in a mess of pillows that suspiciously could also be considered a nest.”
He laughed, then said softly, “I wouldn’t mind mating for life with you if I was a bird.”
“Me, too, Hawk.” You kissed him again in your nest of pillows, leaving the datapad completely forgotten.

Chapter description: Dogma has to take care of you after rather devastating news have been revealed to you
Warnings: shit stars going down in this chapter, angst, reader has guilt,
Wordcount: 1,3 k
Masterlist
Dogma isn’t sure when exactly the Wolfpack started respecting him as their Commander’s partner.
Maybe it was that time he instinctively went to you when the infamous Cad Bane broke into the jedi temple, just to make sure you’re safe. Or it could be the time he showed up just before Plo Koon and 104th deployed, asking for you at the steps leading to the Triumphant flagship, just to give you a packet of your favourite snacks to take with you.
He still doesn’t know the exact moment, but he sure is glad it happened.
For the first time in his life, he sees Wolffe exuding emotion (other than anger) in the presence of someone else, in Dogma’s presence no less. He knows that if he asked you, you’d tell him about the colour of his aura being a mix of yellow and green, a mesh of two colours synonymous with worry and unease.
But he can’t ask you, because you are near-catatonic, being carried into your apartment in Comet’s arms.
A single message from your comm, one written by Sinker, was enough to send him running.
“I don’t know what happened. We were talking to a senator about our campaign happening near their system. The senator said something to them and they just shut down. They looked at the senator like he struck them… they refused to move from the spot and nearly collapsed.”
Sinker’s description certainly didn’t make him feel better.
He takes you and closes the door with his foot, but not before shooting Wolffe a pointed “I’ll update you when I can, don’t worry” look.
He sets you down on the bed. The stare you shoot at the ceiling, void of *anything*, makes his insides churn more than any red lightsaber ever could.
He prepares your favourite food. There’s no love in it like usual. No singing and laughing as you chop up the ingredients. He knows it’s damaging to his own brain, to not be in bed with you, to hug you until you spill your whole mind to him, but you need anything and everything to make you come back out of the dark place your mind takes you to.
He sets the food on the small table in your room and looks at you.
You haven't moved at all. It takes you too long to blink.
He lays down next to you and stares at the same spot as you.
Defaulting to a calming breathing rhythm makes him all too aware that you are slow to inhale and exhale. If he had to ever describe an unhealthy Force trance to someone, he’d paint the picture he looks at now.
The food has long gone cold when one of your hands moves and grasps one of Dogma’s.
It takes everything to not immediately crush you in a hug. But you need space.
He doesn’t dare move. The silence is too fragile.
“The senator knew.”
Dogma’s eyes snap to your face. Your profile still looks gorgeous as ever, but your expression is hollow. The spot on the ceiling you are still examining must be charred beyond comprehension right now.
“Knew what?”
“He knew about the ion cannon.”
He heard about this story from you only once.
Because that’s how many times you’ve had the strength to speak about it.
He read the reports. He heard the accounts of Wolffe, Sinker, Boost and Comet, even Plo Koon himself.
You never gave an official statement. It was all too painful for you. The way the auras around your men went bright black with fear, shining to make nothing else visible. You describe it as the most heartbreaking thing you have ever experienced, the emotions all eventually turning black and then dying out as the heart stops beating.
He met you months after it happened. But you told him to ask Wolffe how you fared then. You couldn’t recount it without having nightmares later.
“He read the report?” he asks quietly.
You let out a shaky breath. It’s like you are simultaneously full and void of emotions.
“No, he…” you trail off.
Dogma sees the signs of oncoming tears. You bite your bottom lip to make it stop wobbling, rapidly blink your eyes to banish the tears - and then they slip down and stain your skin.
“Before he was a senator, he was a head engineer in a company neutral about the war. He said he needed funding, so he- he leaked the schematics to the separatists so the republic would give him money to make ships resistant to the cannon… he caused the whole thing,” you get out before you start sobbing. Your hand in his puts it into a deathgrip and you roll over to curl around him.
He hugs you closer with his other arm and lets you sob into his chest.
He knows they have to detain the senator, as he could be a security threat in the republic. But as the hours go on and your crying slowly fades into a coma-like sleep, he wonders why the senator told you… well, anything at all. He would have absolutely gotten away with divulging weapon schematic to the highest bidder, had he not taunted you.
A jedi padawan, someone who would be naturally able to tell if he’s lying.
Something just isn’t fitting right.
—
When you wake up a few hours later, Dogma is still in the same position. He was unable to get even a wink of sleep.
He asks minimal questions. He re-heats your favourite food, makes you sit down and eat it and watches some holodrama with you. Anything to distract you from the fact that your eyes are still puffy from hours of crying and that your muscles hurt from the rigid hold you had on his hand, even in your sleep.
The update he sent Wolffe while you showered was extensive, quoting you verbatim about the senator. The message is marked “read” the second he sends it.
There is no message back other than “understood. We’ll deal with it.”
Your comm beeps. You check it to see a notice about impromptu shore leave.
It makes you stare at the wall in a similar fashion to yesterday.
“Love, you want to watch another episode?”
“I’m thinking of leaving the Order,” you reply back, as if you did not hear the prior question.
In the silence that follows, one could hear a pin drop from kilometres away.
“Why?” Your boyfriend doesn’t ask if you’re sure, if you thought this through. Your tone says enough.
“They’ll want my official statement. I’ll have to interrogate him and figure out why the Republic officers missed all of this the first time they questioned him. Then, I’ll have to look Wolffe in the eye and tell him why I have failed to bring our brothers’ killer to justice.”
You visibly swallow down your tears and throw your head back against the couch in frustration.
“The Senate won’t do anything about it though. The company the senator owns is one of the top ship manufacturers. The Republic owes him billions of credits. He’ll suggest the debt be null-and-void instead of him going to jail, and then the GAR will order millions worth more in weapons.”
Just as Dogma goes to pull you into his chest and hide you from reality, you stand up from the couch.
You make it three steps towards the door of your apartment before your knee buckles and you fall to the ground with a pain-filled wail.
Every sob makes your body move, flinching as if going against strong rain. It takes less than a second for you to get enveloped into the familiar warmth of your lover’s arms, but it does nothing to soothe the raw pain filling the room.
When you speak, your voice is hoarse, yet filled with steel determination and anger.
“I’ll be able to calculate just how much every life that cannon took was worth to the Republic.”
Description: Aura readers are rare. It is unfortunate to be one in the midst of war (this series will be a "moments in the life of reader" type of work, so numerous things happen "off-screen")
warnings: angst, fluff at the very start, one (1) chapter is smut, reader starts going off the deep end, unhealthy eating habits, reader has very little mental health stability, Umbara, chip arc doesn't happen for reasons in plot, therefore it is AU, author has not finished writing the ending
Chapter 1/Sort of prequel: Droid
Chapter 2/Sort of prequel 2: Sleep [smut chapter]
Chapter 3: Senator
Chapter 4: Wolffe
Chapter 5: Forgiveness
Chapter 6: Jesse
Chapter 7: Don't eat that!
Chapter 8: Life Day
Chapter 9: Echo
A/N: I have been sitting on the first 7 chapters for months. I have no idea how to finish the story, so I will drop a poll a week after (or after the series gets enough traction to have multiple prople asking for the ending) posting the seven chapters about what direction the ending should go in.
